and was told the nokia 530 is better,

is it?
does it run windows?

anybody spotted good place to buy one?

It runs windows phone OS... it isn't fantastic, especially if you use apps.

If you're after a budget phone the Motorola G is hard to beat

Moto G then, unless you're really on a budget then Moto E. Moto G 4G is £100 at Tesco at the moment.

I have to disagree with the Huawei Ascend. I had the Y400 and it very quickly started to slow down before developing a fault. Multiple repairs were offered before I nearly had to take CPW to court before they refunded me.

The 'normal' Moto Gs don't have an SD card and the running out of space issue is an Android problem over Moto G.

What do you recommend at the <£100 mark? Smile Wife has the same phone and memory card as me and has zero issues. Laughing

The 4G one has a SD card slot.
The new 3G one has dual SIM

Have bought several Moto G phones now (for myself and as pressies) and everyone is happy with them.

The camera could be a bit better but a good quality phone overall.

Or likely get the same thing brand new in tesco for £10 cheaper.

I feel sorry for the staff that have to work there.
