so the thundercat has picked up a few scratches in the time I have owned it. What I would like to do is touch up the scratches so it doesn't look as hideous without spending a fortune.

Having trouble finding out the exact colour of paint is. anyone know? my v5c says that the bike was first registered in 1999.

Try searching for the code on This Website or try this eBay Store. There is probably a tag somewhere on your bike that shows the colour code - they will tell you where to find it and supply the correct match.

As above their should be a paint code under the pillion seat bit.

I reckon if you speak to Sudden Impact in Dagenham they'd be able to sort you out something paint wise. They seem to have a pretty comprehensive set up.

Assuming you're still planning on selling it do you think they paintwork is having that much of an effect on value? Not sure you'll make your money back on the paint is all.

That's a fair shout. Depends on how bad the scratches are, but often a touchup looks a lot worse than leaving it as is.

Every time I have been to sudden impact about anything they quote 200-250% more than the cost I get the work for done. I think they just stick to scalping insurance companies.

Try googling 'samurai paint' - got some silky white for my FZ recently
a fair match (a bit dark) and reasonable prices.

Massively. Listed at £700 didn't get a sniff.

Relisted at £750 and had a number of offers for £850 now that I've put a good/the wrong picture up. Will teach me to create the listing on my phone.
