Brum/London Bike Show opinions

Here's a leading question; has anyone got any opinion on either of the major UK bike shows? I'm looking for feedback from anyone who went to either show recently, either as visitor or exhibitor at the 2014 Birmingham show and/or this month's London event. What I'm looking for is:
1. Did you think the event/events were worth visiting?
2. Did you just go for a day or stay longer? Which day/s did you visit?
3. If you went to both, was one was any better than the other (I think I know how that will be answered)?
4. Did you go just to see bikes or if it was to buy gear?
5. Did you find any deals you'd be prepared to discuss? I don't expect details; just whether you came away satisfied with any deal or whether you thought no advantage was gained.

This is purely for personal information. I'm not interested in whether or not the catering or parking was too expensive but I am interested to know if either venue would be somewhere that you'd consider repeating, or recommending to visit. Did you do it purely to browse or were you actually out to make purchases or strike deals? I'm just looking to get a handle on how both Joe Public and the exhibitors themselves consider the shows.

I've not been to either for years now but would like to know whether it's worth considering either for next time around.

Both ok, no deals done, went to go shoot my muck over the new Kawasaki.

The NEC is always better than the EXCEL

Deals are to be had, usually on the last day.

Worth £20 for a day out to do with bikes.

First time at the London show this year. I was rubbish even compared to BMF. hardly any deals to be had at all.

A lot of exhibitors were just there to hand out a catalogue or flyer.

It was also smaller than the BMF. I won't go again.

EVERY Person I have spoken to thinks shows have been getting consistently shitter over the last 15 years or so. I went to the Excel this year but only because my neighbour can sneak us in for free.

I hate to spoil the fun but the annual BMF rally won't be happening again.. Instead MCN have took the weekend over,
no doubt it will be a summer version of the NEC or EXCeL shows

I go to the NEC and Stafford bike show, BMF as well when it was on. I liked the BMF most of all, had some good bargains.

Never been to the London show. Would recommend the Stafford show if you want some bargains, got a Shoei Qwest for £165.
