I have a 1993 yamaha diversion I have just replaced the engine the bike fires up first time but I noticed the bike don't run properly I have noticed that down pipes 3&4 take longer to warm up and plugs 2&3 seem dry any advice please

Change the plugs around to see if the prob moves.

Or just check there is a good spark in each plug.

Do you know the history of the new motor? I would check the valve shim clearances, and then balance the carbs. Divvies are susceptable (sp?) to carbs going wonky.

Remove the carbs and clean out properly and professionally, ( ie airlines and ultrasonic bath for jets).

Refit and balance carefully, worth making sure any filters are clean and flowing fuel nicely too.

Chances are problem will be gone, worth checking you have good sparks at all plugs too.

As others have said, adjacent pair of cylinders lagging is probably a fuelling problem rather than an electrical problem.

Electrics tend to affect seperate pairs (ie 1&3 or 2&4)
