Found this on the net today.
Nissan Juke come from left lane.
Nissan Skyline stops.
Porsche stops.
Truck? bumps rear end of Porsche and Skyline.
Juke drives off.

I'm not good at driving this road(C1 in Tokyo) (I sometimes drive on it when I go to north area) cause lots of cars merging from left and right, and merging lane(?)s are too short.
I usually try to keep decent distance from the car in front of me, but I may be just lucky till today.

(title edited from "pile-up" to "little bump")

That was like megadrive graphics Very Happy

wouldn't exactly call it a pile-up though, more of a little bump.

Juke arrived a little hot, but did stop. Skyline over-reacted and/or was being over-polite... there was plenty of room to get through after the Juke had stopped. Porsche and camera car were driving too close and reaped the consequences of the Skyline overreaction. Juke drives away with a cheerful trololololol.

Looks like a very awkward and dangerous slip road. Truck following too closely and the Skyline driver panicking at the Juke suddenly appearing from his left seems to have caused the accident.

Most UK motorways have very long slip roads, allowing for lots of thinking time, but I have seen people do some stupid things and driving far too slow before they join the motorway.

This junction here which I frequently use has 2 lanes merging into 1 in a very short space, luckily the flow of traffic in the right hand land is always very light, but from the left, you have not much time after you clear the obstruction of the barrier to see vehicles to your right. Maybe I join from the left too fast or something, but at 70mph, there's only about 2 seconds to react.

I agree Skyline could just go forward without completely stopping.
But they were driving too close.
According to the comment, Skyline seems to be an unmarked police car.

Regarding the junction you posted, the second lane from left has very short space. I agree with you. (Still looks better than C1 for me though)
edit : I looked back in the google map. This is as bad as the one in the video. You have too short time to react.
It's really scary for me if I become side by side in these situations. Sick

One thing that irritates me is drivers in the UK getting themselves all irate about driving around sliproads.

1) It is NOT my job to give way to someone joining the motorway from a sliproad.
If there is time and space to make the observation to safely do so, I will try to move into lane 2 to allow someone to join out of courtesy. If there isn't space to safely do so, I'm not braking on a motorway to "let them in.". It's the person joinings lookout to arrive at the end of the sliproad at an appropriate speed and time to co-incide witha gap.

2) It is not my fault if I have to slow down or stop on a sliproad until a space appears. If I'm joining a motorway and there doesn't appear to be a gap, I utterly reserve the right to dawdle slowly in the upper part of the lane to give myself room to accelerate into a gap when one appears. If no gap appears by the time I get to the bootom, I WILL stop at the end of the sliproad and wait for one. Sitting behind me sounding your horn at me is not going to make either a gap appear or my vehicle capable of accelerating faster.

Worst motorway join in the UK I've seen is where Great Western Road in Glasgow joins the M8 Eastbound at junction 17.

You come out of a 30 limit on a short, elevated, curving sliproad and join the M8 as lane 4 (on the right).

There is one in Stockport too, slip-road merges into lane 3.

This one looks better than the one Stinkwheel posted. It has longer distance before merging and you can see/check the road and cars more safely.

What stinkwheel said.

My pet hate on the roads is complete retards that don't speed up on sliproads / joining the motorway.

I usually just over/under take the mongoloids as I quickly join the motorway with no issue at all while they look all flustered trying to join it at 40mph.. Rolling Eyes

In general, Asian drivers are the worst drivers in the world.
