Hi guys what websites do you recommend for custom PC builds? Its been about 6 years since i bought my PC i did a custom build from powerc.com.

The computer has done very well it gets a hammering everyday with image processing but is starting to get a bit too slow, it will be used by an employee.

I can't remember how much i paid but think it was 1.5k or there about and would be looking at paying about the same again. Im pretty happy with the powerc just want to check if there are any others people would recommend so i can check pricing.

Thumbs Up
Got my parents media PC from them, with the spec of PC being very good considering the price.
Of course you lose some control of what goes into the build, but the choice of available components are usual of very high quality anyway.

Have won plenty of awards in the past, and have been going for years.

A work colleague bought this

Quite a lot of bang for your buck.

Build yourself rather simple like Lego
Just make sure you match parts
Can help if need be.
What's budget

It's not though, is it. Like you said, 'matching' parts, but what's that mean to someone who's not clued up in that aspect. Then you've got to wire the thing up, install all the drivers, OS, programs, test it all, rectify any errors or issues.

I'm not saying it's impossible for a first timer, but it's a lot harder than just plugging a few components together.

couldnt disagree more mate...

i get what your saying people who are not clued up but there's plenty of information on the net and in the library.
the idiots guide is a prime example....

i find it therapeutic building my own machine, just throwing random bits around.
like i said its an option, if the op has spare time and fancies it... its not rocket science...

then again im useless with bike mechanics!!!!

its also worth noting that intels new chips are due to drop any time now. it might be worth waiting for this when buying new as the older chips will drop in price

It's worth looking here, they have a nice range of value, custom and enterprise systems.

Yeah but going by your logic it should just be a case of a Haynes manual and off you go, build your own machine from raw parts..!
