Got a Bandit 600, been riding it for a year and want an upgrade. I use it for commuting and fun.

I also have a Ducati 900SS which I will insure as well, but will keep for weekends/sunny days.

What do you think I should upgrade to?

With a budget of about 2k I was looking at the older GSXR SRADs, what are the opinions of BCF?

What benefit would you get from changing your work bike?

Happiness, Bandit is so boring now but may have to stick with it.

Paddy, I know... there are none, all overpriced crap

And not a bad idea about the ZX12-R, I avoided looking at liter bikes as I can only imagine the insurance rape as a 19year old in south London but....

Litre bikes aren't insurance rape. Costs me more to insure a Ninja 300

Are you trying to make sense of insurance? Laughing

Wild supposition, more R6s get stacked because riders who "cant trust themselves" go for them over R1s?

Although that would make sense, so it's probably not the answer.

For 2k I would probably look for something like CBR918. It should be ok for both - commuting and fun.

Depends what you want it for and which riding position you like.

If you're commuting and need an every day bike, probably the extremes of a wrist strainer sport bike or a sit up and beg naked cruiser/cafe racer type aren't gonna cut it.

That's why I'm a big fan of the more neutral sports tourer type riding position - upright and comfortable for most things but you can plant your chin over the tank if you want to hoon it from time to time with a bit of protection from the wind rushing to hit you.

If you want smiles per miles for commuting I'd probably think about getting a big single!
