Beats using a foot pump on car tyres - but beware - the gauge is naff, and the body gets red-hot after a few minutes use.

An occasional squirt of WD40 in the air intake after use, when it cools down, keeps the internals in good condition and stops the piston seizing.

If it's not being carried on the bike, I'd prefer a 'digital' one you can leave to pump to the desired pressure and come back.

I prefer the screw end, because there's less faffing with it not being quite on etc.
