I was thinking today while hurtling down the dual carriageway, wouldn't it be great if my helmet had a voice activated nose scratcher or even better built in to the helmet a brain wave sensor that picked up signals from the part of the brain responsible for an itchy nose and activated said nose-scratching system. Got me thinking what bonkers bike stuff might be on the blue sky wishlist?

Also I thought up a revolving shed. sort of roll in roll out ferry type affair. For small gardens where you cant manoeuvre the bike round but just ride in. So you ride into the shed, shut doors behind it, next morning just revolve the whole shed 180 degrees and have doors at the other side and ride out the way you came in.

Or the "Sky Shed"! a shed bolted twenty feet up on the side of your house but with no floor. Instead a cradle for the bike is on a winch. you ride onto the cradle, secure the bike to the cradle then an electric winch operated by remote winches cradle and bike up into the shed. Once into the shed secure girders could swing out from the house under the cradle to hold it securely.

Any more ideas?

A visor that heats up and demists/dessolves rain etc and is also self cleaning somehow, as well as 100% scratch resistant. Hate having to wipe it every 5 seconds when it rains.

Some kind of device to hold and shelter an ecig or proper cig. Currently I can't easily smoke at much above 25 Mph.

An ejector seat (with accompanying rider parachute) activated by front-facing collision sensors.

SMIDSYs will never be the same again.

Coloured adjusting nuts for the chain, it would have a different colour do it pattern wise by the thread. For example red yellow blue. Easier to make sure it's fully aligned then instead of counting notches.

Or having something like a calliper on the bike each side of the swing arm so you can see if the wheel is in full alignment. Basically read out a number of the distance between the wheel and swing arm. Check both sides and you can see how much it's off by. Then you know which side to adjust.

Hooks that fold out at the rear of the bike to easily attach bungees or cargo nets to it's ok attaching them to the bike like normal. However fold out and have a little hole you could just put them through. Fold it back in and it would make the whole thing look neater.

Portable cover (accessory), when you are repairing on your bike in the middle of the street (for those without gardens or garages). You could just pull the cover over it and yourself so you can work on the bike even when its raining and not be touched by the elements.

Side note

At motorway service stations they should have a map at each one showing the route of the motorway, it would have detailed points about traffic and road conditions or weather for winter.

All these things exist smiler.

Count threads on adjusters to make sure the chain is aligned or use a vernier caliper.

My old zzr had fold out lugage hooks.

Pop up gazeebo for shelter.

And most motorway service stations have a big LCD screen giving travel info.

Some sort of compressed air cannon that fires ball bearings through the windscreens of all those who displease me.

I'd like one of those too, I expect it would run out of ammo incredibly quickly though.

A microns-thin hydrophobic nano-coating on the visor would be nice.

Wax it.

Oh and I'd like a localised mobile phone jammer/transmitter that interrupts people talking on their phones with
a high pitched whistle or a recorded message about what dicks they are using a phone at the wheel. Which also
automatically dumps their call or garbles their text input too. Laughing

I made a device for this. It was a stick with a laser pointing along its length. Stuck to the side of the wheel with the laser pointing back at the ground a few feet away. As the wheel is adjusted I could tell if it was out of true. Ended up with a major essay on wheel alingnment from TeflonMike on how unnecessary it was. 😐

There are circuit diagrams for jammers on the net. Quite complex devices though.

Brilliant idea - so when the cager who is on the phone comes to within a 10m radius of you their call drops - leading to them looking at their phone to see if it has actually dropped or not, rather than paying what scant attention they were to the road.

My Honda has markings built onto the swing arm so you can set the alignment without using a caliper.

Half of them are already looking at their phone already as they are #intraffic
or#behindabus etc.
Calls don't bother me nearly as much as text entry online or otherwise.

I've always thought it would be great if they would make a bike with an extra two wheels for far more stability, a roof for dryness and perhaps some doors and some form of large storage area located at the back of the vehicle.

That would be just grand.

PS: Some sort of heating system would be really good to keep all the occupants warm but I think I may be being a little unrealistic now.

A little shelf that pops out to hold your sunglasses when you put your helmet on, rather than putting them on the seat and watching them slide off
