So anyone familiar with these engines.

I have oil coming out of a hole just to the left of the neutral
switch and clutch push rod. Its looks like its meant to be there
but it doesnt have thread so not for a bolt.

Its not dripping out when cold but when it gets hot it pretty much just
runs out freely.

Im thinking i should just block the hole with epoxy and a bit of metal but i dont know what its for. Or should i try one of these oil additives that stop
leaks .

Any help would be great

Not sure if that hole is gearbox or crankcase.. I'm guessing gearbox otherwise it probably wouldn't run in which case yes block it up. You're probably running without any gearbox oil - so I would check that before riding any further.

so turns out the hole is a drain coming from the carb area. Im thinking
its leaking two stroke oil from the top of the carb im going to drain the two
stroke tank and pre mix some oil in the petrol tank and see if it stops if not.
if not could possibly be leaking gearbox oil from the crank case gasket into the drain.

hopefully its an easy fix dont want to have to split the crank case

there is an other hole above that one....covered by the blue wire........the g/b will have a vent, which may be above the sprocket area, a white plastic 90 degree bend affair with a pipe coming from it....cmnsl will confirm.......is the g/box overfull of oil?

Well its not two stroke oil as ive drained that and its still leaking when hot..

Anyone split the crank on one of these before is it difficult.

Am i missing anything easy
ive done the clutch push rod seal and new push rod and changed
the neutral switch and o ring all NOS. Oil is definately coming from that hole as i quickly took it to piece while hot to check and that hole comes from the carb area is there any seals around there i cant see any??

Bloody old piece of....

I'm not sure i understand this. Carb is on tthe other side isn't it ? And why would gearbox oil be leaking from a carb drain ? The hole certainly appear to enter right into the gearbox area. I suspect if you drain the gearbox now there'll be bugger all in it. If so I'd be inclined to plug it up.

Cheers

Right ive fixed all be it temporary. The hole is from the carb area it goes from the right side to the left via the right hand crank case where there is a joint in the gearbox the gasket was proper knackered so ive ordered a new one and sealed up with instant gasket for now.
New problem the kickstart wont now return up ive read the manual and i should of preloaded the kickstart spring. Do we think it will do any damage riding it like this i dont want to take it back to pieces until i
get the new gasket so i can do it all at once. But i need the bike tmz does anyone think it will be an issue?
Threaded an exhaust bolt aswell bugger.
