So people on here seem to recommend this but is this the cheapest quality one about?

Me and the mrs are looking for something for a tour round wales but want it to be interrupted with sat nav directions whilst talking to each other, can they do that?

I started with this one as a cheap one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Motorbike-Helmet-Bluetooth-Headset-handsfree-New-/361075971741?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5411ce169d

No intercom, no complaints about the other functions though it was good, got mangled in a crash.

So then the Mrs brought a pair of these back from China

Really good, better battery life than the cheaper one, decent sound quality. Build quality seems pretty good too. You can set the priorities on this one too, so if you want satnav to be the main thing you can do that.

Thanks.. Does it do both at the same time though or do you have to flick between settings

My wife and I have used the Sena SMH10 for a couple of years now and they've been great. We used it on a tour of Scotland and Ireland, and on many weekend trips. The charge easily lasts a couple of all-day uses. I pair it with my mobile, which has the TomTom app on it, and we can both listen to the same music, interspersed with SatNav directions, but not while using the intercom feature. It's one or the other, but either of us can toggle the intercom by just touching the button on the side of the helmet.

You can configure it so that the phone interrupts intercom, at least with an iPhone 5, but I found that so annoying that I shut that feature off. If we're getting into a town/urban area and I need to concentrate on the SatNav, I shut the music *and* intercom off (long press and then short press on the button).

With earplugs, we can easily talk and listen to the music on the motorway. Without earplugs, the wind noise would drown out the intercom.

The only slight annoyance is that I got the open-face/flip-front kit and we have to adjust the boom arm on the microphone so that it's right in front of our mouths when putting on our (full face) lids. If you have a full-face, get the appropriate kit, which has just a wire to the microphone, which is then velcroed to the inside of the helmet.

It will switch seamlessly between some settings.

I have mine set Phone - IC - Music (I prefer to glance down at my satnav rather than listen to it nag) if the IC is interrupted by something with higher precedence you do have to press the button to reinitiate the IC.

So when I'm happily singing along to the Internationale and my wife decides to nag me, she will take precedence over the music, if a phone call comes in it will beep at me and if I take the call that then takes precedence.

You can alter the order so if you wanted you could do Satnav - IC - Phone - Music... or whatever tickles your fancy. Sound quality depends a lot on your lid, I have a fairly noisy lid but can have decent comms up to around 85-ish (over that it's workable but you'll find yourself asking "say again" a lot), the Mrs with her open face struggles much over 50.

(this is the 2nd one I linked, the first has no IC).
