Well i was with a mate who was looking at buying a bike and quickly got talking about my MT07 ive had just under a year.

Seems yamaha are now doing a free akrapovic exhaust on their base MT09 abs/non abs models (special editions not included).

As it stands yamaha havent advertised the fact yet but will be running the deal until may i believe.

So if your in the market for a satandard MT09 its a great deal. After the test drive i realised what a proper bike is Thumbs Up

Mode A activated!

Apologies if this is already known.

A free Akroprovik on MT09 I find that hard to believe, that system costs almost a grand, are you sure someone isn't pulling you chain

It's probably just the end can and I'm sure Mr Yamaha doesn't pay the full RRP.

This is legit and it's the titanium system made by akrapovic. Although I prefer the carbon model - and it's £400 cheaper too.. But still £525 from Italy

They are cool bikes, I have been perving over them for a few days now. Not sold on the front end but all the video reviews involve much hooligan antics Thumbs Up

I own (no finance or pcp) an FZ1S.

Unlike the MT-09 it is an inline4 with 998cc. Based on the 2006 R1 engine. Therefore a much faster piece of shit.

After test riding the mT09 - I believe my bike to be far superior - contrary to what the bike magazines say. Cool

At the end of the day, that is what you are basing your opinions & finance deals on - the reviews in magazines. Which are truly independent I'm sure. Rolling Eyes

Nobody makes shit bikes these days - bit like cars. Otherwise they wouldn't sell.

Red wine & Forums eh? Very Happy

The problem with the fz1 is that it's a 150bhp bike.

The whole reason the street triple and now the mt09 have been such a success is because they make a (more) useable amount of power in a fun way.

It's about more than just chasing big numbers.

It shows on the website now that they are indeed doing an offer for the full titanium exhaust system.

Thumbs Up

Spot on. This way you can have lots of fun and be a bit less likely to wrap your nice shiny new bike and yourself around a tree.

To me the MT-07 and MT-09 are logical extensions of what Yamaha were going for with the FZ6 S2 and XJ-6 some years before - just as sensible or as fun as you need them to be without always going at license losing speeds the whole time. Fair play to them for that.
