Anybody got any tips on restoring screens? The photos dont quite show just how cloudy it is. You can barely see through it when sat on the bike.

Depends on how far through the material the clouding has gone. If it's just surface abrasion that has caused it, then toothpaste will work.

I use a product called 'Poly-Watch' which is much finer, and is used for removing scratches from watch and clock glasses - but if it is caused by exposure to sunlight and has started to go yellowish, it might have gone all the way through - like the acrylic windows on my shed!

Has anyone actually tried this?
I am planning to have a bash, I also have some fine polishing compound which I will use to start/finish depending on which is courser.
I hear lots of people talk about it but not many people say they have actually done it?!

The headlight on my cbr could do with cleaning up.
Would this be a bad idea to try?

Best regards

We do it here because the sun destroys the lights and turns them yellow, can buy kits that have various grade sandpaper and then a cutting compound to get the clear back

thanks for the advice everyone.

I've just tried the toothpaste method as on that youtube video but it hasnt made much difference.
I think it may have gone too far through the screen. Its not particularly yellow, just very very scratched. Almost like someone has just sanded it with fine sandpaper. I cannot feel the scratches under my finger nails though.

I used - Meguiars Plastx on my old volvo headlights, they were all cloudy like this pic and they came up like new. would recommend using a drill buff for applying.
