Help! I need to order a pc quick as I've got some video jobs coming up next week, Adobe PP and AE will be used for editing dslr and avchd footage.

I bought an evo 840 ssd this week and have a Radeon HD 6870 graphics card as well as 3 x 1tb disks so storage should be ok

But my trusty 8 yr old Q6600 died last night so it's time to upgrade! I'll need an os as well

Budget is limited but can go to £750ish if needed

I've got a fresh 27' screen so just the tower itself required

I'm looking at ......see pic attachment plz guys

Never had any dealings with fastech before?!

I think an i5 would be enough.

Cheers Rhyno indeed my Q6600 only got a sweat on when rendering video etc but my old sli mobo was also the main problem. No usb3, I have to shift lots of data from weddings etc and it takes a while! Only 2 of the sata ports were sata2 and that was debatable tbh.....and the memory was slow and expensive etc so upgrade time! I've ordered the i7 with the extras as it's for work so tax deductible I do has a nice water cooling zalman system for the Q6600 which is totally over engineered if your interested

I buy all of my eCig equipment from FastTech, it's very cheap, but there is usually a long delivery time depending on where your item is being posted from (usually Hong Kong) and can take 3 weeks+. Also, beware of fakes from there too.

you can get usb 3 pcie card dirt cheap some have sata/ esata support too.

The cheapest i7's seem to be the mobile chips but you pay more for the motherboard g2 /988b and not all are quad cores and the base clock is lower, sodimm ram is cheaper though and some come with mini pcie slots for laptop size wifi cards etc.

I ended up with an i7 7890k with gigabyte z97 gamers board 16gb of 2400 OC ram and ssd like this and got to say it's pretty quick at video rendering compared. 20 second boot up is still a novelty vs the 5 odd minutes on my last pc.

What did become apparent is one of my raid 5 drives had pretty much died and I was getting 20mb data rates so I ditched the bad drive and they are back up to 120mb+ and the ssd's are hitting 510 and 550 mb. Yet to use more than 10gig of ram tho!
