I've read in the papers a few times how some idiot had drove the wrong way down an off ramp on the motorway. I've always thought to myself, how the hell is that possible?

I was taking my bike in for a service yesterday morning. The roads were quite icy so I was taking it easy coming off the off ramp, as it is a 180 degree bend. Just as bloody well I was going slow! I got halfway round and there was this bloody car coming at me Shocked

I pumped my horn at him but he just carried on, also passing the car behind me. Shocked It was only a single track road. I stopped at the traffic lights ahead and for all the time I was there, he didn't reappear. Exclamation

How the hell can you manage to go down an off ramp without realising? Confused

Probably not, there are alot of idiots out there! Confused

Only last night I seen a cracker. Coming home from the pics (DON'T go see CREEP, it's a pile of whores gash.... Rolling Eyes ) some plonker had somehow managed to miss 2 or 3 NO ENTRY signs and drove down a 1 way system...
Thing is, he arrives at the round-a-bout heading towards on coming traffic on the wrong side of the road, then proceeds to wing it right onto the correct side of the road causing me to swerve!! It wasn't only an angry fist he got.. Mad Evil or Very Mad

Total idiot...

I have a story about a (now long dead) Grandma of mine.

One of my aunts was going on holiday and rather than leaving her car sitting outside an empty house for two weeks left it with said Grandma (her mother) to look after.

Anyway Grandma had her car licence but hadn't driven for years, she was in her 80s. However having a nice shiny car outside her house proved just too tempting...

She decided on a small trip out, and, having never driven on a motorway, thought that might be fun...

So she took a run up the M61 (she lived in Bolton) to the nearest service station. Got there with out any trouble and had a nice cup of tea, then decided to go home. Of course, she turned the car around and went back the way she had come...

Luckily some coppers in a car were parked up having a coffee break and spotted what she was up to and (having probably spilt their drinks down their tunics) managed to pull her over at the bottom of the slip road before she got into any real trouble.

She was subsequently banned from driving and the story made the local paper. When the article appeared she desperately tried to hide every copy she could find... Laughing

I was on the VFR once with M on the back going round a massive roundabout* following another car. Part way round I noticed the car in front slowing down, almost to a stop, so obviously slowed down myself. I wondered what was going on until a car came towards us in the opposite direction. I have no idea what the 'old dears' in the car were thinking, they must've thought "look at these silly people going round here on the wrong side of the road" or something.

*(at least I guess you could call it a roundabout, although it has some strange giveway junctions on it).
