Ah yes, one of those law abiding pro taxi drivers. Laughing

You know that lane splitting is legal and the reason why many people ride? It means less time having to be on the road being cut up out pulled out on by twats in taxis.

Get over yourself and learn how to indicate and use your mirrors.

Just go ahead and run us down - pulling a U-turn without indicating or looking is always popular. It's OK, the law doesn't consider us to be humans; you'll be given a nice hot cup of tea and be told not to blame yourself. Thumbs Up

That made me smile before bed, tomorrow I'll be revived and ready for more lane splitting in a deliberate attempt to piss off taxi drivers.

Someone certainly missed his extra hour's sleep.

Is it true that the reason that taxi drivers drive round on just side lights is because they are so fucking cheap that they are scared of having to replace blown bulbs on their headlights?

What annoys me most about that post is "lane splitting" - that's a yank term. We filter.

But taxi driver that doesn't know the highway code must be legit.

Ummm.... because my bike is narrower than the gap between the traffic.

Because it's easy

I comment without any intention of feeding the troll. Luckily, it seems to have retreated for now so it should be alright. I was just wondering (as a huge noob, I mean really; pre-CBT and everything): is it normal to have this kind of animosity from "cagers"?

I've seen so many bikes filtering while I've commuted and I move over to help out and simply think "They're braving the weather & increased vulnerability so hell they deserve that." or something to that effect (and a small part of you thinks at least someone is getting where they need to go!) This has always been my attitude and the attitude of everyone I know but since I've been looking into getting onto two wheels, I've noticed a great deal of animosity from some drivers - is this atypical or typical?

P.S. I suppose you could say my other reaction is looking into doing the exact same thing! Smile
P.P.S. @Rogue_Shadow I would give you an infinite positive rating if it were possible for that post! It's never Lupus! Very Happy

It's certainly not unusual.

The majority of the population are retards.

Put a retard in a car, and all you end up with, is a dangerous retard.

I suppose that's very true! It just surprised me a little since, as I said, I've never known anyone whom I've been in a car with to act that way.

The last year or so, it seems like I've been in perpetual traffic with two others too so you'd think someone would've said something if it were there opinion!

To be honest, in my 30,000 miles of riding, with 90 miles a day commuting in towards London, I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of drivers who I believe have acted maliciously towards me.
There are many, many more who are inattentive, but that's different. I'd say that the vast, vast majority act either indifferently to bikers (which is fine) or are actively helpful in making gaps appear - especially in slow traffic.

Aggressive morons are aggressive morons whatever means of transport they choose (pedestrian, push bike, car, motorbike, bus, lorry) - but at least when I'm on two wheels I can leave them behind, fuming to themselves in a traffic jam Smile
