A couple of weeks ago I bought myself a new lid from J&S, annoyingly it went next door who then went away forgetting to give it to me!
Anyway, I opened it yesterday when I finally got my hands on it only to find that it was in the wrong colour scheme.
This morning I called them and they could not have been more helpful, sadly though the colour scheme I wanted is out of stock and no longer available Sad

BUT!!! The said if I liked the colour scheme they sent me (it's nearly the same) I could keep it, have a £50 refund and a free dark visor + pinlock.

I'd call that a win.

So, thanks J&S. No matter what boozehawk says you're a decent bunch of chaps and chapesses and I shall be using you again!

^^^ Woot woot...a result!

I take it this means you are pretty much back in the saddle again? How's the shoulder? I can manage about an hour max before I need a rest...

I like J&S, don't know what other people have against them.

Had to return a pair of kevlar jeans because I discovered it was missing a belt loop, didn't have another pair in my size though.

So I chose a different pair, slightly more expensive (like £20 I think, not a lot I know), did a straight exchange without wanting extra cash.

Little things like that, that keep me loyal.

I have nothing but praise for J&S I bought some RST Tracktech Waterproof boots during the summer, a good 5 months later, after wearing them at work all day over the summer, they gave up the ghost at the first serious bit of rain. I contacted J&S and they did say they were guaranteed for a year and under warranty I could take them back in. I did so and got a full credit note and I paid the extra for a pair of Sidi Goretex and even got a 10% instructors discount.

Although they cost a lot more than buying stuff online, I like the service in J&S, and can't imagine the ballache of buying stuff online to find out it doesn't fit, also i'd feel too guilty to try it on in J&S and go home and buy it online...

Bought some ace IXS textile pants from J&S Preston, Aussie bloke who works there was really helpful Thumbs Up

Never bought a lid from em though

I've always found them to be very helpful, moreso than HG, who were a bit hit and miss.

I wasn't completely happy with the way they dealt with a problem I had with some A* boots, but that aside, they've bent over backwards to help me every other time, they even went to the trouble of sourcing me a jacket they don't import into the UK.

Also, the manager of my local branch happens to be one of the guys that worked where I first started buying gear, so I've got over 30 years of continuity with him, which means I'll always give him the first chance to sell me something.

J&S are good, providing the manager is decent and not some knob with small man syndrome.

Bought a 1 piece suit at their clearance centre in Finedon and lots of little bits from their shop in Braintree.

Always seemed like a great place and the prices are reasonable. Would recommend much more than the other bike shops!

After doing my CBT I walked straight into the nearby J&S to buy my first gear. They were really helpful and gave me a decent discount for everything I bought.

Can't fault them really.

J&S at Hanger Lane. When it went from HG to J&S they bought in a new J&S store manager and kept the HG staff. The J&S store manager is an awesome bloke, really friendly, nice guy. The old HG staff are miserable as fucking sin. Always were. I am baffled as to why they kept them on. They leave the place with such a strong feeling of gloom and misery.

J&S stores are generally OK if you are not buying J&S products. From what I understand astronauts can see two man made things from space. The great wall of China, and the pile of returned and rejected J&S motorcycle boots. Thumbs Up

What J&S branch, OP? We could send Boozehawk down there on a customer audit to verify how good they are.

Yeah, nothing but praise for the Doncaster store. The few times I've been they've been more than happy to spend time helping me out with questions and suggestions. They've staying open an extra 20mins for me and on another occasion there, got me a coffee whilst I was testing some jackets.

Quality chaps and generally really decent prices it seems.
