Apps Tray Icon Bolloxed

Naively left my little nephew alone on the settee to play Booba that I had installed on my phone for him to play with.

No good deed shall go unpunished eh!

Samsung Note 4 with Kitkat 4.4.4,

Now find that the apps tray icon at extreme right of primary tool bar on home page is inactive.

The apps tray icon now appears to be sitting on top of my Contacts icon in the primary tool bar, and if I press it it brings up the apps list.

My Safari icon has also disappeared from the primary tool bar, fook knows what else the wee git has screwed up.

I cannot restore the original settings. Phone is not rooted if that makes a difference.

I drew a blank after tons of googling, I'm an android newbie.

Any help guys ?

Is he an Android genius or has he just dragged things about?
Drag icons to main screen and put back in order.

Cheers mate, on the pic the coloured arrows relate to the text having the same colours, excuse my attempt at explaining this, hope it makes sense.

You can see that some icons in the primary apps area are sitting on top of another app, the second (central) phone app is sitting on top of a Contacts icon (i think).

The apps tray icon is duplicated and the apps tray icon to extreme right of screen does not do anything when I press it.

If I change the screen wallpaper I get three icons on the primary apps area (Contacts, Phone and Apps Tray) and they all work, don't know if that helps.

Thanks for looking at this, I'm flummoxed to say the least, right screw up.

I think he's screenshotted your original background, set that as wallpaper and then moved the app buttons about! Laughing

How old is he, because it's a good trick to play on people and definitely seems like he knew what he was doing.

You were spot on mate, big thanks.

He just turned 3 years old, has a thing for pressing every button he sees, washing machines, hi-fi's, consoles, you name it, little git.

He for sure did not know what he was doing, just has a natural ability to make things fubar.

Fook, I wouldn't know how to do what he did, after your explanation it took me ages to figure out the significance of what you said and make corrections, DOH!
