'Core' of Tyres

I'm hoping that as usual BCF can help where my poor Googling skills cannot...
How much tread is there in the core of the average tyre? between the air inside the tyre and the outside world? discounting the usable part of the tread.

I ask as I just dug a small chunk of glass from my rear tyre (in the usable part, they're at about 3mm tread atm).
I would say the glass went maybe 3.4mm in from the usable tread, penetrating about 0.4mm.

Under the rubber will be belts of kevlar, steel, Rayon or whatever to give the tyre its strength and shape. If it's only gone a little bit and the tyre is holding air ok it should be ok. Try googling motorcycle tyre cross section?

Probably depends on the tyre, but bike tyres I've cut up
had about a 4-6mm thickness between the bottom of the tread and the inner surface.
Sidewalls thinner of course.
