best setting for my GoPro Hero 2?

Hi Guys,

hope we are well.

Just looking for some advice, really! Got the Easter run on Sunday and will be dusting off the GoPro, not used it since the last one i went to in 2013! I was just wondering if anyone knew what the best video setting would be to get the best picture?

720p @ 60fps in light conditions will give clearer footage for riding a motorcycle because the frames will be shorter and you're moving fast on a bike, which at 30fps @ 1080p could blur the frames due to them being exposed for twice as long as they otherwise would be at 60fps.

30fps I only use in low light conditions to allow more light in each frame.

Having said all that I've never used a Hero 2 but those concepts seem to generally apply to those settings on any action camera.

Also by picture I assumed you meant video. I haven't got the foggiest idea about taking pictures.

As far as I'm aware youtube has also updated there system to enable videos to be uploaded at 60fps as opposed to the previous cap of 30fps.. just makes for a more free flowing video with less restrictions.

that's if you did want to upload it (technical editing etc).

No worries bud. You should rig up a mic too and wire it into your helmet and hide it in the cheek pads to remove wind-noise from the footage also. Dunno if a GoPro Hero 2 takes a mic but you can use the newer GoPros with a Drift Microphone and they're exceptionally good at cutting wind noise down.

They're about £15 I think and make all the difference because wind noise is just fucking irritating.

Also some good & easier to use than it first looks software to edit clips is Sony Vegas Pro 13. You can get it online for free. I totally didn't download it for free though Wink

Sorry to barge in on your thread with something along the same lines....

But what's the best cheap/non permanent/readily available stuff for re-sticking a helmet cam mount?
