So I'm back riding after 9 years of boredom, I've purchased a SV650 which is naked and has a street fighter kit on, I want the rear cowling sprayed has anyone done themselves and if so how easy was it, if not does anyone know of a decent place that won't charge a fortune......

Depends on the finish you're looking for. I've done simple, plain colours, rattle-can job, which is easy enough. For a good finish, use thin coats of primer and then paint, flatting each coat with a fine grade wet and dry each time. You need somewhere fairly dust free, and somewhere to hang the item up (cat walked over my just finished item while still wet....feckin twice! Evil or Very Mad Laughing). I'd have a go. You can always re-do it if it doesn't work.
