So who`s tiddler touring this year?

As we all know lot of you have plans to whizz off somewhere this year and we are all looking forward to our own tours

Just out of interest, how many of you are touring on bikes of 400cc or less?
Why do I ask? no real reason other than nosiness?
I personally find it a bit more challenging to go the distance on a lesser cc bike.
If I was going "inter-continental" then I might use my bigger bike, but when I`m in the UK, I like my 250?
Hey each to their own and all that.

I have even considered? getting a Honda H100 just for the giggle and do a small tour of East Anglia.

What about you lot? or are you all using 1000cc rockets

I took the CB250 anticlockwise around Scotland last year and it did remarkably well, I might take it back to western Scotland this year.

The only thing that stops me taking it to the continent is that I go with a group who all like to travel at rocketship speeds. But if I was to pluck up the courage to go alone it would be my first choice.

I would take a 250 any day of the week. It's why I have been looking at MZ's recently. Like has been said, it's only because the people I would go with would take bigger bikes, that I would take a bigger bike to keep up.

If I ever pluck up the courage to go on a riding holiday on my own (or at all), it would be a smaller bike, I just prefer the appeal of having to think about essentials more, as the bike would carry less stuff, the challenge of route picking to avoid main roads and how cheap you could do it for on a smaller bike.

Same here 250 every time if the tour is in the UK

I use hostels and cheap B&B`s these days so no tent or sleeping bag to carry , 250 cope really well

I was planning on heading up to the Highlands on my 125 this weekend with some of the guys from BCF but, the need to find somewhere to live kind of took a priority and scuppered my plans. Was really looking forward to it too.

Did a mini tour of Wales last year and had a great time and will no doubt do something (probably Scotchland or Wales) this year, when I get sorted with a house.

I'd love to do a Euro trip too but, I'll maybe wait until I've got a bigger bike before attempting that.

Still hoping to do a bit of Scotland myself, but dependant on house sale too. Really hating that this just puts all major plans on the back burner, so I think some spontaneity called for.

Thinking of taking a few days in Wales, camping, once I get the bike back. Need a break from all this redecorating/house sale/viewing crap. Just want some settled weather for it.

Still a fair bit of Wales I haven't explored - SW/Pembrokeshire and a couple of castles on the north coast I haven't looked around, and sure I can find some more good roads I've not yet ridden. Anglesey needs a visit too.

None of it will be pre-planned, just a case of what I fancy doing when, and going with the flow. Hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks.

I'm just out of your sizing catchment at 500cc, but it's not quick so I think it should count as a smaller bike!

I did look into getting a 250, but didn't think it worth it as I have a bike sitting there.

But when it's back on the road I'll probably be cruising around slowly with my brother, who is on a 125...

Been to germany twice now on an NC30, which is at the upper limit
No camping though and it will still do ~130mph so it's cheating a little bit.

I've got a 650 (which is wayyy not a tiddler, but is a single) which I'd happily pootle anywhere on.

Also got the cg125 which I'd be willing to mess about and go camping on as long as I wasn't the only one - or 30mph up hills (thinking Scotland here) would get very boring, although very cheap. In fact I'd probably have to chant something along the lines of "This is costing me (close to) nothing" the whole time to get me through.

I could be up for this in 2015, by next summer I'll hopefully be on a full licence and the non-running er5 in my garden will be a running again commuter!
