Question No. 2, Part 1: Helmet, Textile Mesh Jacket, Textile Trousers, Leather Gloves, Shine High Boots.
Question No 2, Part 2: I don't slow down
I need some better boots and jeans for those rides to a destination for a day out. |

Underlayers and leathers. Gets hot but not unbearable, unless you are in traffic / stopped etc. ____________________ 07' Honda Hornet now full powaah! My guide on performing an oil change! |

I tend to wear a jacket, kevlar/armoured jeans, boots and gloves. If I'm too hot, I ride faster To be fair though, most of my riding is out on the open roads (both commuting and leisure riding). If it was pottering around a town at low speed my choices might be different. |

It will be fine, apart from the highly unlikely event of an actual warm, UK, summers day, anything in the mid to high 20's your gonna sweat like a pig if you're in the saddle for any length of time, (like last years BBQ)!
| NJD wrote: | 2) What do you wear while riding in very warm weather and how do you cope with the heat? |
Jeans, jacket, (open), boots!
Speaking from experience it doesn't actually get hot in the Uk, if it did, , you could invest in a mesh jacket, I know they work in 30+! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

I don't do bad weather much anymore (don't see why i should if i don't have to!) - but i wear kevlars pretty much all the time. i did just get some textile trousers as part of a deal with a textile jacket, though.
The trousers are going to be strictly cold weather as i took them a test ride and they were far, far too hot for it.
I used my textile jacket on Sunday which was reasonably nice with the liner removed, but i do have a leather jacket too. sometimes i'll venture out in a t shirt, but not always.
As for boots, i have long boots that haven't been used yet, had them for well over a year. just find my ankle boots more comfortable and easier to walk around in. ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator

Summer months? I don't know what country you live in, but summer around here last weeks, at best.
| NJD wrote: | 2) What do you wear while riding in very warm weather and how do you cope with the heat? |
I wear textiles (with thermal layers removed) over my work clothes until the temperature gets to about 25C. Above that, I put my work clothes into a bag and wear just a wicking layer under the textiles (e.g., Oxford Cool Dry or some light merino wool base layer). This suffices 99% of the time.
On the very rare days above about 32-35C (2-3 days a year), I'll just wear a t-shirt and jeans for commuting. I commute through central London, though, so the speeds are generally low. I'm unlikely to die or need massive skins grafts. If it's that warm on the weekends, I'll wear kevlar jeans and a leather jacket. I don't find these massively cooler than the textiles, though, and they have the disadvantage of not being waterproof, so I generally don't use them while commuting or if there is any possibility of rain.
I always where boots and gloves. ____________________ Current: '14 VFR800X Test passed 31/10/12.

"Appropriate"? Sure, for my definition of that word.
| NJD wrote: | What do you wear while riding in very warm weather and how do you cope with the heat? |
Kevlar denim jeans, army boots, a lightweight mixed textile-leather jacket with all the vents open, open face lid with a chin bar riveted on. Stay hydrated, carry water, apply as necessary.
I have a pair of vented Diadora boots which I reckon I wear once a year. Will probably GumBay them this year. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Similar here. Jeans in summer, sometimes some light cargo trousers if it's really hot (rare, and they tend to ride up the legs a bit). I've bought myself a leather jacket too, for summer riding, but again, if it's really warm it'll probably be too hot so can revert back to textile with liner removed and vents open. And got myself some short A* boots (Sierra GTX XCR).
I once bought an air mesh textile jacket but only got to wear it about twice in a year, so wouldn't bother now, not worth the extra expense in this country. There'll be maybe two or three days when I'll get uncomfortably hot whilst riding. Don't have to commute in heavy traffic though, so could be worth it if you do a lot of that. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Well I wanted to pretend I was riding around in the south of Spain, so yesterday in the immense heat I wore shorts, T-shirt and an open face lid to the shops, but then this was only on a CG Oh and for the safety conscious, I went for trainers, not flip flops. |

Was in full leathers yesterday but with the underlayers on I was perfectly comfortable.
I wear the Karrimor longsleeve running tops that sports direct sell, two for 15 quid or something like that.
I find them ideal for under leathers, really lightweight and don't get damp pits either.
Didn't wear anything on my legs under the leathers I had on yesterday, they are a touring cut so quite
loose compared to others I have. Just a bit of talc after my pre ride shower. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

I believe I can answer this fairly well (it's going to be 33c today)
I only ever wear jeans and my jacket is very breathable textile, a lot of people wear shorts and tshirt (I sometimes wear a long sleeved shirt too) but I burn like a mofo
People are rather relaxed about biking attire here, whilst I agree that gear is needed, it's a risk you take. ____________________ 2017 KTM 350 XC-F - 2014 Yamaha R6 - 2005 Yamaha YZ125
