Currently use some touring motorbike boots from Aldi but they're uncomfortable after about half a mile walking.
Looking for some all around boots offering protection on the bike but also good for long walks.
What would you recommend?

Alt-Berg Hogg dual use, which have either a Skywalk or a Vibram (depending upon model) walking boot sole. Not cheap, but very good on and off the bike.

RAF flight boots is my current fave for 'all round'. Got a short'ish pair for £20-£30 off an army surplus store. They cover my ankles and go part way up my shin and are all day comfy.

Got myself some TCX X-Five Touring boots a year and a bit ago, they were only £60 in a sale at a local bike shop (incredible, I know) and so far they've been very comfy and still completely waterproof even after a couple of crashes in them and about 25K miles of all weather use. Highly recommended.

https://www.ghostbikes.com/5037-black-oxygen-elite-motorcycle-boots.html
GHOSTBIKES15 code for 10% off last time I checked.

Used these for a year and a bit now for everything riding-wise and also touring-walking; remained waterproof and comfortable.

They're quite tight fitting around the foot and feel similar to general boots/shoes for me. Never leaked and never had any blisters or discomfort walking in them for a few hours/over a couple of miles.

No fancy ankle bracey protection stuff; but as a budget boot they're good Thumbs Up

TCX Infinity are possibly the most comfortable things to have ever been on my feet (including slippers).

Very lightweight, but decent / solid protection round heel, toe + ankle.
Waterproof + light. Spot on for walking around in. It's why I bought them.

Buckles are an acquired taste maybe.

Army Goretex 'Proboots' - pretty sturdy. Polish them up and they look respectable, slide down the road fine and can walk in them for miles and miles.
Some find them a bit hard, but I find the goretex version isn't too bad.

Usually about £50 new on ebay, or a little less second hand.

Do pick up mud when walking (not great if then going to work in an office), but that's the price you pay for good grip.

Altberg.

Hogg are closer to a walking boot, but all the motorcycle boots have decent soles on that aren't averse to a muddy field. My clubman classics have been comfortable enough to wear all day, more so than any pair of outdoor shoes I can easily transport in my small luggage.

Oh and I should note that I've crashed several times in army boots and been fine.
As opposed to when I crashed in top of the range Sidis - but there was a tad more energy involved in that one!

I've never wormn anything other than army boots on the bike (except when I'm wearing wellies or brogues for various reasons).

I've climbed Monroes and done a 25 mile road march in the same boots I wear on the bike. I have also crashed in then several times.

I used to wear (and preferr) the old British army combat hi-legs but these are almost impossible to find now so I make do with assault boots. You need to see them before you buy these days though. There was a dodgy batch made which have disintegrating soles you can pick apart with your finger tips.

Also, if they have actual stitching holding the upper to the sole, they are fake. Proper ones are direct moulded (the sole is moulded onto the upper). The "stitching" you see is actually just a design moulded into the rubber of the sole on genuine ones.

Totally waterproof if kept well polished/greased.

^^^ Plus one for the army boots. Its all I ever use on the bike since I started riding. Never let me down. A good alternative are the German para boots. Really comfortable, hardwearing and waterproof too.

Altberg make the best service boots. Might as well get anti-torsion insole and proper ankle protection. Having dropped a 125 on service boots, properly crashed same 125 on bullsons and vaguely crashed a 200kg bike on altbergs, I'd go as far a saying service boots are no way near as good as mid price touring boots, which are eclipsed by altbergs I'm terms of protection and muddy field ability.

Much the same but I prefer the Geman paraboots with more padding round the top.

They have more or less solved the tendency for sole to come away I think but prices have gone up and they are a bit bulkier now perhaps a little awkward to get under some gear shifts.
Still an excellent robust and waterproof boot for almost any occasion.
