You still have entitlement to drive. You could collect another 8 and still take your test

Incorrect. New driver act only applies after receiving a test pass and entitlement - 12 points on provisional before getting the dreaded TT99

You're allowed up to 12 on a provisional, I believe. However, any more than 6 (or 5 really) on your licence when you pass your first test, get any more in two years and it will be revoked under the new drivers thingy.

Nopes,

Took my 1st set of tests with 3points on my prov licence and passed it all 1st time.

Then 22months later got another 3 points.. R-R-R-R-REVOCATION MOTHERFUCKER

Took my 2nd set of tests with 6points on my licence and passed it all 1st time again.

The New Drivers Act applies to your FIRST FULL licence.

AKA, your first pink licence.
If you get 6 points within the first 2yrs of getting your first pinky card then you get your licence revoked and you have to resit all your tests again.

CBT, Theory, Mod 1 and Mod 2.

I was awarded 3 points on my provisional last year and taking my A2 next week, are you saying that I would have to earn another 6 on my full license to get the ban or are the 3 carried over from my provisional?

Not a ban - an entitlement revocation. Read CaNsA post above

They're carried over.

After you've got your first license, if you get any more points, and the new total is 6 or more, then you're revoked, no discretion.
