Anyone had any problems with Carole Nash Insurance before?

Went to take out a policy with them last week on my ZRX1100, they told me over the phone that I could have all the trimmings including 3rd party on other bikes, which is my main incentive for paying the slightly higher price.

Handed over card details.

Rang them next day to confirm a few things and was told that I could not have any of these perks, not even the 3rd party cover on others bikes. Told them to cancel everything ( policy wasnt due to start till 4 days after ), was told that no payment had been taken.

2 days later I notice a payment come out from my account for the amount of the original quote. Rang CN again to find out why and was told that no payment had been taken and non of my card details had been entered into the system and that I should wait a few days to see if the money returns to my account.

Bank tells me the payment came from CN's address and was taken the day after my initial call, no refund has been issued.

As I am writing this, the Ad banner is telling me of CN's great offers.....

Chargeback if you used a credit card. Bank will reimburse you and then chase CN for the £££.

I did for the vanvan, they were rude, unhelpful, and generally pains in my arse. However they were cheaper than everyone else and I can be a bit of a prick so perhaps it was just me. Anyway I've changed to another provider and I've not had a problem, will find out who in a bit.

They USED to be very good. I had my multi bike policy with them for years until the price suddenly went through the roof and I changed to MCE (yes I know MCE & all that but lots cheaper).

Now I'm just cynical about the lot and go with the cheapest.

The question is why did they say you were OK for all the extras one day and not the next? Did you change something on the proposal?

Yea, as above, why did they change their tune?

I treat insurance as a necessary evil. Get the cheapest and forget ever claiming!

Normally I would go for the cheapest. I only want tpft.

I changed nothing on the policy and only rang back to double check the address details were correct. They were. This is when they told me I couldnt have any of the extra's that I had purchased a day earlier as they were not available on a TPFT policy....

The person that I had been on the phone to the previous day was quite adamant that I could get all these extras ( He told me about 7 times through the course of the 4 hours I was on the phone to him while he brought my quote down from astronomical to reasonable Rolling Eyes )

I just go on a few comparison sites and pick the cheapest TPFT cover with the lowest excess. Doesn't matter who you go with they're all cunts with hidden charges in the small print.
I have breakdown cover from Start Rescue which is cheap too.

On dat jew time cuz

Ive just renewed my insurance and had seen these advertised on a bike magazine i think.

Their quote was four times higher than anyone else, but i would get a free bike cleaning kit if i took the policy out Rolling Eyes
