Hi all,

So.. from the back of my "riding in warm weather" post I decided to purchase the RST Blade Jacket as opposed to a street boot and kevlar jeans based on my needs, anyhow.. it's time for the final piece of the gear upgrade list.. he says Rolling Eyes

Bar the helmet I wear all RST gear, seems like their range in sport boot is limited to the Trachtech evo and just wanted some second opinions from anyone and everyone.

Tried my usual size on earlier (while shopping for something else) and felt like I was going to brake the zip off trying to do them up with my trousers tucked inside.. went one size up and felt much easier, is there a trick of the trade to this boot or?

My main concern about the boot is that the toe sliders look a little out of place both in the colour scheme and just personal preference, I can't help but feel like if I was to wear them on my 125 it would be like riding a rental bike while the sports bike is in the shop for repairs Laughing

Worthwhile investment?

Thanks in advance for any responses Thumbs Up

I've often found that with boots I need to go a size up.

If I were you I would get down to the nearest J&S and try on lots of boots until you find some that fit and feel comfortable. Don't worry about getting RST to match your other gear and if colour is an issue just go with plain black.

Bit confused - are you saying you got Kevlar jeans? if so you could go for a less sport type boot.

These look pretty cool for £74 quid delivered. Currently in the ebay daily deals.

Protection looks pretty good, better than my Spada predator boots which I paid the same amount for.

I got the waterproof tractech evo boots and they're great. They're actually waterproof. Had them over 6 months and they show no signs of wear.

Had to go 1 size up though.

No sorry, just a follow up for anyone that read my last post and this (as I kind of asked for advice in that), I mean I've opted to replace my jacket and boots with upgraded RST gear as opposed to my original idea of Kevlar jeans and a street boot.

I've noticed them before while window shopping at what I call "internet gear" a good option and certainly look the part but personally I think a trip to my local J&S is less of a risk than buying without trying, thankyou.

Seems to be the trend even on reviews on sportsbikeshop, keep this in mind Thumbs Up

I agree with going up a size. I had the WP boots aswell. They were comfortable and hard wearing but after 6 months they were no longer waterproof. J&S did exchange them for me. I could have got another pair but instead I paid the extra and got Sidi Goretex.

There does seem to be a "needle in the haystack" with some of the RST gear as I've read that some of the owners of the jacket / trousers getting soaked and others staying bone dry.

I've only had the trousers and gloves for a couple of months and thus far holding up like brand new (alot more than my prior set of gear).

For £130 I'd certainty be heading back if I ended up with my foot in a poodle.

Also starting to notice that waterproof gear costs more than the summer equivalent *weeps at expanding the budget* Laughing

You wouldn't want to do that. The RSPCA will be on your back!

Remind me never to use the internet first thing in the morning Doh! Laughing

Went with the RST Trachtech Evo (Waterproof) the only other waterproof sport boot they had the Alpinestar SMX-6 for £189.99.

The RST would have been £129.99 but managed to haggle it down to £119.99 (same as the non waterproof version) because the boot had some wear and tear marks on the front and just small marks here and there, had no others in the stockroom and didn't really fancy waiting for the order to be delivered.

I've just bought myself the Blade jacket and trousers as well but went with these TCX S-Sportour Waterpoof boots, heard very good things about them which was backed up by Sportsbikeshop reviews, and they're on sale!
