 |
|
Hi everyone I'm new here. Cool forums.
I'm thinking about getting a Honda XR125. I need something low cost and reliable to get me to work.
I used to have a DT125 and it was a blast to ride but it wasn't a cruiser. It always wanted to race away. But I was pleased with the performance.
I'm a little older now and would prefer a 4 stroke.
I understand the DT125 has 2bhp more than the XR125 and I thought maybe adding a high performance exhaust might give it a couple more horses and also give it a meatier sound.
Do they sell high performance exhausts for XR125's? I checked out the Supertrapp website but they don't list exhausts for XR125's. |

You could try the Carbon Can Company for a silencer, or esle a firm like Wunoff, would make you up a full stainless system, its a very simple pipe for an XR125, so i doubt it would cost loads. If you had a fractionally bigger bore downpipe and straight through silencer, i suspect maybe 1-2bhp could be gained with re-jetting and possibly a performance filter or modded airbox. If this is worth the money is a question you can only answer yourself. Most would say that it isnt becuase you will be wanting a bigger bike sooner or later most likely, but if your only interest is making your bike the way you want it/ and different from any other XR125 then maybe you dont mind wasting cash on it then? Ive got a KMX200 that im going to turn into a motard, but with lots of new bits and a tuned engine, and yes i might end up sinking more than twice its value into getting it how i want it, but its a bike i want to keep forever and i want a bike thats built just how i want it, so in that sense its worth it to me to do what im doing! |

Don't really think a XR125 is powerful enough to have a High Performace can. I'm sure someone makes them though, try www.jollymoto.nl ____________________ Northern Irish? www.nibikers.com |

Thanks for thereplies guys.
After thinking some more and looking at some XR's at the local Honda dealer in my area I've decided it would be a waste of money. I've decided to go for direct access but in the mean time I need something to get back from the airport at 11pm. I've been biking it on a push bike but would rather something motorized at that time at night.
I have a full car license and a cheap moped will work for now. I've already started studying for the theory. I heard it only takes like 4 days for the direct access.
Thanks again for the advice. |
