Already disputed it, in a friendly way.

Got the letter back to say it was not upheld. So that is stellar Thumbs Up

Based on 2004 act, which I will get more information on when I see the letter.

Fine is 35quid if acted on in 2 weeks etc etc.

Any tips on a good wording for "it was out of the way, where we are meant to lock the bike up, you have no rights, go away"

I spotted the bike parking bays around the corner just after I parked and was going back to move it, bumped in to warden, asked him... already ticketed.

I'd start by contacting the council and finding out precisely what the regulations are for that parking area, ie. get a written copy of the regulation, not just some council bods' personal opinion. also what are there regulations regarding pavement parking in general in their district?

Leicester is a nightmare ever since they got rid of the free bays near the bus station, last time I tried I couldn't even get to the ones next to the town hall because the roads were blocked off.

Did the road have double yellows where you parked? I believe that means you can't park on the pavement there either.

Granby way/street, opposite the tesco express or sainsbury.

Possible double yellow, but completely not in anyones way.

If I ignore it, will there be bailiffs etc?

You can't ignore council issued tickets.
Yellow lines apply to the whole of that side of the highway, pavement included.

LMGTFY.

Double yellows, correctly terminated. Doesn't matter that you considered yourself out of the way, you're banged to rights.

You can appeal to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal.

https://www.trafficpenaltytribunal.gov.uk/

I can't see why you'd win. The only technical grounds might be if where you parked isn't part of the highway, e.g. if it's private land owned and maintained by the shops rather than the council. Looks like a highway though.

When you lose, or ignore it, Leicester council can pursue it as a debt in the county court. So, yes, ultimately court bailiffs, plus many extra charges.

Up to you.

On what grounds have you disputed it?

With this sort of repetition, your karma will never get to double yellows Wink

Haha, yeh my phone puts the spastic in fan-spastic. Sorry.

Erm, checked the actual council letter. Got a personally written letter, including four pictures, clearly showing double yellow lines and loading marks.

Stated reasons. Coupled with Rogers points, and the fact there was a huge motorcycle parking bay on the road just round the corner, I think I'll just stump up.

It would have been a fiver there and back by bus, so it's only 30 quid in it.

Getting a nicely written letter by a person appeased my blood god. And frankly, this is the least of my concerns right now. Loss of money when eating pauper flavoured pauper-pops asides.

Cheers for the replies though people Thumbs Up
