[color=white]My trip report for a 5 day Scotland trip a few of us off the forum did over the Easter weekend. The route maps are a little inaccurate as we added in various little routes along the way; believe we did around 2000 miles in the end. Thanks to MCW for inviting us all to stay at her house on the Saturday also  .
[size=18]Day 1 - Friday 3rd April
Set off from Dorset to Lancaster as a half-way stop for the night.

Not much worth mentioning about Friday. Due to bad weather, bank holiday traffic and lots of road works - the entire day looked something like this.

Great pics Matt.
I'm kicking myself even more now for not being able to make it. In hindsight, if I had of gone it probably wouldn't have made much difference to my house searching saga as it turned out. 
Will definitely make it next time. In fact, after seeing those photos, I may just take myself of up there in a couple of months time or so.

Really interesting, thanks
I've done the Glasgow - Loch Lomond - Glencoe - Fort William - Inverness route a few times, in a car though. I think it's fantastic.
In summer I'm off up again, and again in a car (sorry! Taking the girlfriend and no bike at the moment anyway).
That Applecross road looks really interesting. Is it fine to do in a car? Or can I expect to have to pull over at every passing place and need to do loads of annoying shuffly reversing movements etc to let people get past? I'm only gonna be in a little Renault Clio (not the new fatter version). |
