Sidi Vertigo EVO Boots. Anyone had them?

I'm boot shopping. Currently wearing budget Spada predator boots but am not happy with the calf fit and
now worn in they don't feel particularly sturdy either.
I fancy the SIDI Vertigo Evos a fair bit but don't want to pull the trigger on £200 boots if they are not worth it.

All SIDI experiences welcome, there are other boots in their range I'd consider but these are my favourites
based on looks/reputation/buildquality.
But I'm happy to be re educated. I was also considering some motorcross style boots as well as they seem very chunky and well made.
Been looking at Thor 'Blitz' boots. They look great.

I had the original Vertigos, I was more than happy with them, comfortable, fitted nicely, held up well in a crash.

Zips went eventually but they'd had a hard life.

Wouldn't buy again because you can get goretex boots for less and that's a decider for me.

I bought the Sidi B2 Goretex and doing instructing I cannot fault them. I wear them 8 hours a day when training and a lot of it is spent walking around the pad. Waterproof as they day I got them and I wore them in some torrential downpours.

Go to a shop and get the sidi's sized for you though as they tend to be a bit on the small size.

I always go for the alpinestar smx boots. They last for ever, are comfy for walking about in and have plenty of protection.

I tried some on and found SMX+'s more comfortable. Look trick, crash well, comfy. Worth considering.

I have a pair of the Vortices and I imagine that the fit will be pretty much the same.

They're really comfortable, quite chilly in the colder months (but I bought them for summer use) and they squeak a lot. Would definitely buy a (similar) pair again.

The one thing I do find is that because they're quite bulky, I often knock against my pegs and stuff when I put my feet down and when paddling the bike backwards. I got over that though.

I'm sure they'll be great—go for it.

Can't speak for the Vertigos but I have a pair of Sidi Courier boots. Very comfortable, very sturdy and support my pinned leg very nicely. They're well built and bits can be replaced when needed, although I've not had to replace anything. I've had mine for over 2 years and at the very least there's 2 years life left - I suspect they'll last a lot longer. Built to last.

I've just got a new pair of Sidi Black Rain Evos to replace the Black Rain 2s I had before those, and the Black Rains I had before those..

Great all-round boots. Waterproof too.

In my experience SiDi's are definetely built to last, however if you have particularly wide feet i'd opt for Alpinestars instead.

had some vertigo's for several years now, brilliant boots, but as above, i have quite wide feet and they can feel a tad cramped after several hours biking or walking about.

not sure if a size up would help or not.

I have the original vertigo's which i bought used off eBay, my initial thoughts were that they were really uncomfortable as their was a bit by my right ankle that was digging in where the boot folds between two bits of armour......

However once i realised there was an adjuster on the back by the calf and adjusted it to actually fit my foot this went away, so now I'm more than happy with them.

I don't think I'd pay full whack for them but i got them for £80 and they don't look like they had been used much.

Got the goretex versions, mainly use them on track.. fantastic boots, given me years of use and so signs of wearing out.

Only annoyance is the right one clicks when I walk.. was going to put some wd40 on it but never get round to it
