After further investigation into the bikes bad performance have now found that's it's running a sprocket set up of 16/38 as opposed the standard 14/41which will hinder the quite alot I have been told.

So. My question is, what front sprocket woukd you use to recreate the 14/41/,ie would 13/38 give the same gearing as standard if that makes sense, and do the cg125 use the same sprocket /chain as the c90.

It's basic Math.

41/14 = 2.93
38/16 = 2.38
38/13 = 2.92

You MIGHT have a trouble with clearance if you use a smaller sprockets.

There is probably a reason they came from factory with 14/41 not 13/38

You might also have a problem with chain tension, as the smaller sprockets are, well, smaller so take less chain to go around them, meaning you have to pull the rear wheel back more to tighten it - you may run out of adjustment before it gets tight enough, either now or as the chain and sprockets wear.

There is also the whole thing about the chain having to pass around the tighter radius of the smaller front sprocket, but on a CG I wouldn't worry about it.
