Or some chancer with a butter knife.

Unlucky Sad hope it gets recovered. Mine was found fairly quickly but have since learnt that locking with something decent might be useful...

Unlikely it will ever be recovered, Its probably on its way to Eastern Europe to be re-registered. This is why its hard to have a nice bike in London Sad

Was it insured?

As a long standing member of this forum I thought you'd have read, as much as me in my short time, that anything made by oxford should be avoided.

By all reports, I could probably chew through an oxford chain.

Yet, I have sympathy for you. It looks a nice bike and I hope you find it. Though if you do find it, you probably won't want it back.

It's either joyriders (less likely) to crash it around the estates or blokes in vans who are already in the chunnel never to return.

Presumably it failed.

Sad times, I'll keep an eye peeled in case they head to Albania via Scootchland.

Police Might be breaking the speed limit or stopping in cycle boxes. Police

Actually, might genuinely be being used in the commission of another offence. Ask CaNsA about that shooting that he totally didn't do because someone else did it on his bike which was legit stolen.

But is on the truck to Albania though.

Where exactly in London was it nicked?

Very distinctive but that won't matter when it turns up in Eastern Europe.

Bad news.

Was the chain cut with a cropper or an angle grinder?

Commisserations, you learned the hard way that Oxford are wank.
I thankfully learned this from BCF before some dipshits tried to cut my chain.

Buy your next chain and lock from 1 of these 2 companies and you're about as secure as you will feasibly get...

https://securityforbikes.com/

or

https://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/

I can vouch for Customer Service and quality of both companies and their products (in general, not tried every chain and lock they have)

Where in south London? If its near me I'll have a look around the local hiding places.

Also have a good look around your way. Standard practice is to nick the bike, leave it somewhere secluded but nearby for a couple of days in case it has a tracker, then pick it up and get it to a lockup or overseas.

It was in Coulsdon, Croydon area. As far as I know he's already scoured the Mitcham area to no avail, but thats not surprising. Highly doubt it'll be left in plain sight, or being ridden around.. It's not exactly inconspicuous is it.
