I have a Shoei GT Air that is fairly quiet however part of the visor mechanism sticks out and causes wind noise, I'm going to try using some Sugru to make it more aero dynamic. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. I was recommended on here, i think, that Scorpions were quiet. Picked up an EXO 2000 and its far quieter than the cheapo one i originally bought.. it sounds like open face compared to this ____________________ Triumph Street Triple-R

I have a Schuberth C3. It's not terrifically quiet for my use cases, but it depends on where your head is in the turbulent air flow. It's a lot quieter on a naked bike, but still not something you'd want to do a long motorway trip on without earplugs. A lot depends on how well it seals around your head, too. There's a chin curtain that velcros onto the chin area, so it's adjustable for fit. A lot of noise for me, though, is created by a gap at the back of my head. Putting a hand back there, or a neck tube, reduces noise. But a neck tube impedes neck mobility, interfering with the jacket collar. The whole system has to work with your gear, seating position, air flow, etc.
But the question was which helmets known for being quiet. That would be many Schuberth helmets. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Should be okay with a pinlock visor then. Cheers. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

I think some Shoei's are known to be pretty good. The quest?
My XR1100 is certainly okay, however anything above 50 you'll want ear plugs anyway.
I wear ear plugs all the time now, I don't know how I used to do it without them!

I have one of these on my Shark S700 and whilst it was not a deafening whoosh without it, the Jammer had reduced the noise a fair bit.
Then again, I tend to ride with music on the Bluetooth, so all it means is that instead of being on 8 volume I only need it turned up to 7 (numbers used for example purposes only) ____________________ 2002 Rieju RS2-50 (Sold, spares or repair), 2010 Suzuki DR-125SM (Traded for ->), 2007 Honda CBF 600 (Sold), 2010 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 (Briefly, now returned), 2007 Suzuki Intruder 1800m (Even More Briefly, traded in for ->), 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 650 |
