My ongoing saga with my 97 zzr600 continues.

I bought another set of carbs for the zzr. They were advertised as E series and looked to come from a reputable company.
My zzr is an E series, however the new set are bigger and do not fit.
My frame number is zx600de077135 and there is a sticker on the side of the frame that says E13. Also on the frame is says zx600e.

Please can someone advise?

Why are you replacing the carbs in the first place ? Maybe the replacement ones are from a ,zzr 1100 or something?

(Briefly) looking at the kwak workshop manual I can't see a difference between E or D carbs (other than jetting). I think they have sold you something else (possibly 1100 carbs).

The sticker is some Euro bollocks, yours is probably an E5 (or a late sold E4), not that it matters.

What was wrong with the current carbs that required total replacement?

The bike wont start. all other avenues have been checked. It turns over but wont fire and generally stinks of fuel.
So on the advice of others I decided to change the carbs.

Carb issues aren't something that just lobbing a new set on will fix.

Strip, clean and set the existing ones up properly.

Buying a new set of Carbs to fix fuelling issues is like buying a new engine because your clutch is slipping.

nb, obviously if carbs are cheap and you want spares, or parts are seized go for it but even so you'll want to strip and set the new ones.
