I don't think I've ever seen one in person. I've seen a Buell sign at the Harley shop in Preston but that is about it.

Were they big sellers in the states, bankruptcy aside? What is the general view on the bikes?

You mean sad news for EBR or Erik Buell. Buell has been defunct for years.

I suspect someone will come along with the funding soon. They had a world beating bike. the 1190RX was getting good reviews next to a 1190 Panigale, so it's a good bike.

There was one up for sale when I bought my CBF, but thought not really a good option for a first bike after 125.

Much prettier than the HD beside it IMHO

Sad, but not surprising. Without access to Harley dealerships, who were they expecting to sell their bikes?

There are one-eyed, multiple-amputee hydrocephalic gibbons out there that are prettier than your average Harley.

Hmm, didn't that big Indian m'cycle manufacturer called Hero MotoCorp get involved with EBR recently? I really need to go and find out what the situation is, lol.

They bought a 50% stake. I'm guessing they either offered to buy a 100% stake and Erik refused so they pulled the funding, or they pulled the funding so that they could buy EBR cheap. Either way, it's a pretty dastardly move.

Especially dastardly seeing as EBR helped develop the new Hero range...

I loved the look of the 1190RX. Shame!

Just normal business, why pay full price when you can get it for half. Americans and Tories like that sort of thing Rolling Eyes

Harley were slated for selling off Buell, but I've never understood the story behind that. It was another feather in the Harley cap an didn't steal people who were after buying traditional Harleys. Something else caused Harley to pull the plug - Eric maybe?
