Divvy is getting a long in the tooth and I quite like the sv650's mostly the sound. Question is is it going to be a upgrade from my divvy.or do you recon I'll get bored pretty quick?

You're just not very well at all these days are you mate?

Not only have you been expressing a lot of love for the Pre RR CBR600's, you've not mentioned the other Honda related word you know/like best for quite some time?

What's happened? Laughing

This. SVs are dull as ditchwater; CB600Fs aren't much better but they are at least faster.

I cast a sideways glance at an SV650 when considering not re-building my ZZR600

Figured for commuting duty and the occasional potter down country roads or even motorway runs it'd do the job happily

Didn't as couldn't find one with full fairing (commute all year round) or in budget and got distracted by the prospect of fixing the ZZR up

^ That, get the sv1000 or possibly the honda firestorm.

If you want to stay japanese the choice is pretty thin on the ground.

Err... as an academic aside; I think that the Jap's probably make more V-Twin engine motorcycles than the rest of the world combined.. but a lot of them have tassels..

In a similar vein, though; while the Yanks have 'claimed' the longditudinal V-Twin as the 'Classic' American motorcycle engine; from the 'Golden Era' of the 20's & 30's, only two or three makers actually 'favoured' them; there were actually more makers who built 'in-line' (with the frame) fours!.. most of them were the same bike, the 'Henderson 4', built under different names as companies wet bust, were incorporated or engineers set up on their own, but still. Britain made more V-Twins than the Yanks.

However, to Sidewinder... the answer is possibly built in Mondello. The original Italian V-Twin, pure and simple. A Bavarian Boxer with Italian soul (& Unfortunately electrics!) A true GT, (Gentleman's Torture), neither staid tourer nor fickle sportster; just, just.. actually, stick with the Divvy! its probably more powerful than any of the 750's and more than a few of the 1000's.. with the bonus you wont have to carry a multimeter every-where you go Shocked

I've just done the opposite and gone from an SV 650 to a Divvy 900 and I can't say I miss the little Suzuki, not that there was anything wrong with it. It just isn't a bike you love.

Full price isn't much short of an MT-07. Worth a try? Paddy won't stop raving about them.

I've fancied one for the past couple of years until I sat on one last week. It felt REALLY little, like, 125 little.

I'd say not worthy of an upgrade.

A lot of ex divvy riders opt for a Versys.
Not a V twin, but a twin still..

Great upgrade. Thumbs Up
