unlucky Sad maybe practice riding your bike in a car park the first day so you get use to it. then maybe it will be able to concentrate on oil and stuff on the road.

i suggest you put some ice on it if that helps. then tomorrow visit your doctor. i hope it feels better soon.

Get your wrist looked at if you haven't.

I've seen several people claim they're fine, get forced to go to hospital and find out they've broken stuff in their wrist/hand.

Just be pleased it wasn't a brand new £3.5k bike you crashed.

Spares should be fairly cheap.

Nasty that it happened on your first ride, but you do get used to looking out for such things.

If you seriously think you've broken your wrist go to hospital. Had a look on ebay for bits for your bike?

There is more diesel and oil on the car parks then there is on the road. Had to catch the bike several times on those f*cking things. Practice on the road, mate because thats you'll be riding.

i didn't know that but i am guessing it will be a lot easier to go through the basics in a car park, as cars can be a pain in the arse. my cbt teacher told me to go through everything again once i get a bike in a car park anyway.

In theory a empty car park is a great place to practice but if you look in car park bays there are always large oil patches where cars etc have dripped oil in the same place for months on end. Also large vans and lorries park in the lanes rather than the spaces and drip diesel.

Diesel looks blue on the road and the oil has rainbow look when wet. Learn to look for these and you'll be OK. Don't forget the grids and white lines. Thumbs Up

Real bad luck. Could be worse there are stories of people crashing on their CBT's. Get that wirst of yours checked out. Hope you don't get too much grief from parents/friends over this.

I maybe wrong because I haven't seen the junction but 20mph sounds too fast.

Hey, sorry to hear you fell off on your first day, I also did the same, first day on the roads, brand new GPR 50, slid on a metal grate cause my mate turned too quick without warning.

another mate also did the same, went straight into a wall with his brand new RS.

Glad your ok though!

Bad luck mate, sorry to hear that. I crashed on my second proper ride on my new bike. Get your wrist checked out. It's been close to a month since I came off and my thumb still isn't right. Reckon I must have cracked something.

Aah, the rider's baptism. Don't want to be cynical about it, but i'm pretty sure you've learnt a valuable lesson after your first spill. If after a week, your joints are feeling like shit, then go to the GP. My first spill was on diesel too, so i know what you feel - right elbow and knee hurt - it's a pain to ride with - Keeping it wrapped up and warm with Vicks seemed to sooth the pain and swelling a little, but i was still left with a fuck off scar on my right knee.

I have had my CBR6 for about 4 weeks....only last week I was pulling upto a roundabout, stopped, looked, went to pull off and must have hit some oil/diesel or something...

Front wheel went left, bike was starting to go forward....

I ended up with the traffic behind me, standing at the roundabout holding up the bike a 45 degrees, thinking should I let it drop or should I put effort into picking the beast up..?? My stubborness one...I slowly picked it up, but OMG 180k or thereabouts, is very heavy..

So I feel for you mate..seriously, get that wrist checked out.

yea, i went to the hospital last night cause my girl friend keep telling me to, so i did.

and theres a hospital just 15 min walk from my house, so i went there, couldnt get in!!! hang outside about for 10 min to check out the map and i realise there ISNT an A&E department in this hospital!!!! OMG!!! it was 1 am in the morning at that time.......

then i saw a doctor car pulled up so i ask him if i can get in to hv a check out or something , he said i need to get the another hospital which is about 4-5 miles away!!! i was going ot get some cash out and call a taxi, after i got my cash, that doc told me someone could gimme a lift to there, save my taxi fare Razz Razz how kind he is~~~

so i went there, waited for 2 hours, after the X ray, doc said i m ok. but it REALLY hurts, i really think its broken or twisted or something, it must be something wonrg inside, but, oh well, glad that my wrist is ok

p.s. theres so much finny/weird/carzy thing in the A&E at mid night time, a guy who had a drunk fight with someone and hurt his foot, but he was jumping about with one foot and never stop wondering about; someone just collapes after over taking drugs, her dad(?) lift her all the way to here, as she was wanting to collapes, her clothes were lift up............etc

Sorry to hear about your accident mate, at least your bike has been pre-disastered now. Wink

Best thing is to get your self sorted, get back on and practise. There's no substitute for miles.

The problem with the wrist could be bruising/tendon damage. It can feel like a break but will ease off with time.

Good luck.

i have a knackered wrist because it go smashed in between a car and a bike...women drivers (stereotype i know...female bikers are good drivers...dont kill me)

it knackered, injections havent worked so arthroscapy next, (keyhole surgery) all on the private scene cos their insurance is paying...it hurt, and is still not right, so if it still hurts after a month gfo to gp and demand to be seen in the hoispital...nhs will brush you off if symptoms arent obvious, so demand to be een etc...nhs is really naff to be fair to it, i know they are underpaid but thats no excuse...

anyway im sorry fo you mate, dont be oput off and i hope you heal soon

although its sort of annoying that i fucked up in my first ride, but i wont be put off riding tho Smile
now i m finding part of my RXS on the internet, well, hope it can be back on road again soon~~~

now i realise a leather trousers is VERYYYYYY important (boots as well) next thing to get is a pair of boots and trousers, may get a jacket as well, depends how much

it might looks silly to wear full leather protection on a RXS, but at least, i wont hurt as mush if i had an accident , safety!!!

lesson learnt
