 Posted: 15:08 - 21 Apr 2015 Post subject: Best place for A2 license in London/Kent area? |
 |
|
So I sold my R125 for 2.3k, even though it was worth about 2.7k, but oh well.
I thought I'd hold off until I'm 24 and get my DAS license.
I'm incredibly bored of my Mercedes CLK now, parking tickets, parking costs, fuel, etc. Just isn't practical for the summer, so it will only be used for long trips. Insurance is £285 a month too
But I've decided to go for an A2 license I really want a bike for the summer. And getting a decent 125cc would cost only a few hundred less than me getting a 15-20 year old 600cc like the Suzuki Bandit + A2 License, which looks sexy as hell!!! (Pics below).
Will then do DAS in around 2 years time when I'm old enough on my own bike (Good advice from Rogerberg)
Insurance costs are the same. I have my 1 years NCB now, around £50 a month which isn't too bad.
So my question is whether anyone knows any good schools, cheap and good quality training around london/kent side, although I doubt i'd need a lot of training, can't be that different to passing A1 which I already did, same stuff right?
I've googled motorcycle training London, but some of the schools I've had experience with and they suck!!
Regards

By the strict wording of the legislation and also the DVSA's flowchart, you do need to have a theory test pass within the previous two years, even if you have an A1 (or A2) license. The exception is if you're doing progressive access to A a full 2 years after passing A2.
In practice, it's a retarded regulation, quite possibly not intentional, and it'll be up to DVSA Derek on the day.

Do you know, I have absolutely no idea. You are riding the bigger bike on your provisional entitlement to do so, and I'm not completely convinced that having A1 grants that.
You'd have to run into a real nut buster for it to be an issue though. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
