Hello.

Is there a website where i could check bike history just by VIN number? HPI seems like a great website but you can only check a vehicle there by entering its registration plate number (am i wrong?).

I'm going to buy Aprilia RS 125 (18kw) in Lithuania with the first reg in 2008 04. I've checked through local website that in 2014 06, its odometer indication was registered on 7152 km but it showed just one odometer entry.

Is 7k km in 6 seasons not suspiciously low?

The seller says that it's from UK, one year in Lithuania and now has over 8k km.

So, any websites where i could check it only by VIN? It would be also nice to know any additional info, besides odometer indication.

If you do find one, could you please let us know. This gets asked again and again and I've yet to see it answered. Sad

Yodi has already checked it (for 23 pounds). The bike is a write off, category D (insurer decided not to repair). Still thinking to get it because there is really not much choice of mint condition two stroke bikes here in Lithuania. The seller however insists that its condition is mint lol. Here's the info:

Does category D mean damage to the fairings but not frame / wheels / forks?

I'd like to see mileage entries as well. However, Yodi said that's all the info available. Is that true, i can't get the mileage?

The bike if anyone is curious:

Cat D means almost nothing, especially on a faired bike. It will reduce the amount that an insurer will pay out on it in future because, well, they say so.

And there are plenty of bikes out there with low, summer use mileages. It's not inherently suspicious if the rest of the condition matches the claimed miles/kilometres.

UK vehicles now get mileages recorded along with MOTs and you can check the history using the reference number on the V5C. As to why the service you paid for can't do that for you, you'd have to take it up with the chap who took your money.

I don't even know if it has V5C documents. I will inquire about V5C documents tomorrow but i have a feeling he doesn't have them.

Would hpicheck.com show mileage entries if i have the numberplate and VIN? Although it is now registered in Lithuania.
