So I've been riding every day for the last year come rain or shine on my trusty little cbf125. However, I've got to the point that I've outgrown it (well I hit that point about 6 months ago) so instead of complaining about it, I've finally booked my theory test.
Will then get down to the local riding school and get a couple of days on a gladius under my belt before doing both Mod1 & Mod2.

Already have a big bike in mind, as my mates selling his Kawasaki ER6n, seems like a sensible 1st bike.

Will let you know how I get on.

Some days I ride my 125 thinking "a bit more power wouldn't go a miss" but other days I'm glad that even when i'm worse for wear (physically) I'm not on something with enough power to throw me off at the twist of the throttle.

Good luck with the training and tests, 2-4 hours on a local car park was enough to see me to the end of the Module 1 (darn that hazard avoidance) when attempting to do it myself on the cheap, training schools defiantly the way to go though as there's method in the madness of the bend and high speed maneuvers.

Enjoy Thumbs Up

Huzzay, best of luck.

ER6 is a perfectly sensible choice, although it's unlikely that his is the best or the cheapest example out there.

Thanks Roger

to be honest, it's only got 10k on the clock and has only seen dry rides, he wants £2500 for it, which is probably cheaper than he could get elsewhere. I will have my resident mechanic look at it for me (my dad) Smile

Well, if it's an honest bike and you know it's not been abused, why not?

Cracking engine mounts, that's why not. Have a good look at them.

On the first model year, 2006. If it's a later year, you're probably fine. Never saw any cracks on my 07 ER6f, nor on my GF's 57 ER6f. 70k on my ER6, 45k on my GF's.

Frame cracks, exhaust cracks (header), corroded mid section, cracked coils.

You pays your money, you takes your chance.
