To specify which acestream you want to watch on your pi create a text file with the following:-

https://<ip address of server>:8000/<acestream id>/stream.mp4

Save the text file as "stream.strm" and place in
"userdata/playlists/video/" on the xbmc device.

I tried the Acestream HD/VLC app but couldn't get any BT Sports 2 links to play in it. It buffered at 0%, told me I was connected to 8 or 9 streeams then told me no peers were connected or active. The plugin tested OK in the web browser from the Acestream site. I made sure the port was opened and even forwarded it on my router with no luck.

I did get an arenavison3 link to work but it had some foreign wresting on (very good quality though!) The link I found for BT Sports 2 gives the error above. As I can get some links to prebuffer up to nearly 80% and one to actually play, I assume it's Virgin Media interfering with throttling p2p or something.

Anyway, I've found working links on my Android box in the SportsDevil app. On the list of channels LShunter.tv has loads of links, the first one I tried is pretty good quality BT Sports 2.

Are any of those acestream id's working for motoGP? The only motoGP one i've managed to get to work had foreign commentary, just watching a low res stream on cricfree now.

Ended up watching it round my Mum's in the end, she's got a password for the BT sport app as well that she doesn't use so hopefully it's like the sky player and I can use it to log on from mine.

BT Sport 1 works but buffers a lot but BT Sport 2 just won't work. Any other places to get working streams?

If you're not too bothered about comentary being in English then I'd recommend purchasing a Moonbox or TVPad. Both are Chinese (small) set top boxes and I use these all the time. Worth the purchase to avoid streams being taken offline and it is cheaper than getting a rotating dish.

uktvnow add on for kodi has been shutdown due to high server load from kodi users crippling them, but if you have android you can visit uktvnow.net and install their own app to stream sky channels.

they ask that you sign up but there is no email verification checks so just make one up and stay logged in, you can use each made up email three times (on three different devices) before it says you can't register anymore. you just make up another email address after that.

you get everything except the mucky channels.

A 'friend' once used to use sopcast, veetle and torrentstream to view various free channels, but now its just kodi for tv shows and box sets and an openbox v8s for watching live satellite channels that are beamed down to a dish from the 'Sky'.

All very stable, and reliable. Kodi requires a little nouse, but the openbox is plug and play.
