Lexmoto - Vixen or Arrow

Spent a week researching, looking at reviews, thinking, and I've come to the conclusion I will just ride a 125cc manual bike, for a year or so.

At the moment I got a 50cc Longija i had for 6 months from new, had no problems but damn, 50cc is too slow 30mph on a 30 mile journey shouldnt take an hour!

I do a 10 mile trip every day and 40 miles on weekend, and I've not a big budget and after reading reviews I've decided on either:

Lexmoto Vixen or Lexmoto Arrow

and advice on how to maintain? bike cover so doesnt rust as much? does it rust alot?
This is my first geared bike and a bloke from work is gonna teach me how to work them, hes got a yamaha r6 i beleive it looks sexy haha

Just found the huoniao-hn125 which is basically the Lexmoto vixen but £150 cheaper and dealer is much closer to me, I'm steering towards making my final decision!

I just need a bike to last me a couple years until I get where i want to be in my career to afford insuring a car!

Vixen. Its got a (literal) couple of extra mph in it, which you'll appreciate. I'm still intrigued as to why the Arrow is slower, mind.

I understand yall with buy 2nd hand jap, but due to experience, I do not trust 2nd hand anymore, I am currently on my 4th bike and havn't even been on the road 2 years, I am tired and fed up of it.

I had a Lexmoto Gladiator as my 2nd bike, i loved it at the time, it cut out every now and then in the rain but started again 5 minutes later, but I did like the Lexmoto model itself (it was second hand)

And sorry for being a nooby roger! whats OTR prices?

Just checked insurance and both are around £250-260 a year which I am more than happy with paying,
The registration price can't be a big difference surely and the license plate is also going to be same price, I think due to my current financial status I am best off going for the Huoni, will be easier to collect and saving £150, can't complain!

.. I own an arrow (this may be a tef style post).

Cons;

Good little bike for around towns with speed limits up to 40mph, anything over that and you're pushing your luck, I've achieved and indicted 52-53mph in 5th and 7000rpm, achievable but takes some doing.

Highly under powered and behaves like utter dog shite in high winds, gets blown across the road quite easily and leaves you with brown trousers when you've got no control over where your bikes going. Also suffers on exposed A roads, often get cars cutting me up and undertaking me, flipping me off and speed off etc.

A heavily loaded backpack is enough to compress the rear suspension and decrease the overall speed of the bike so something to take into account.

Stock gearing is really quite inadequate, if you live in a area with any form of hill get a 16t front sprocket otherwise upgrade to a 17t front sprocket.

Replace stock spark plug and cap.

Disable side stand switch.

The bike vibrates and makes weird noises form time to time, nothings wrong just has a mind of its own.

Brakes are made of cheese although are adequate enough to satisfy a DSA examiner on the A1 / Module 1 test when emergency stopping from 30mph (tempted to try braided brake lines to see if there's any improvement).

Pros;

Parts are available for next day delivery if ordered before 3pm (to your doorstep).

Naked exposed style bike easy to work on with only the basic tools.

£5-6 a tank (premium unleaded at current petrol rates) lasts 80-90 miles.

Can be used all year round in all weathers.

Can't think of anything else of the top of my head.

Vixen > Arrow.

I actually got my current 50cc moped from LearnerLegal which is a 5 mile drive from me to get to the dealer, and he offered us a "private £30 delivery" charge, where as booking through the website was 85!

Going to borrow some money from the mother (so I can afford to live this month) and spend my paycheck on the Huoniao:)
