Passed MOD2!

Just passed yesterday. Great feeling to be done with it and completely unrestricted.

Funnily enough the examiner couldn't start his own bike in the morning so had to follow me around in a car. You'd think the DVLA fee would cover a decent bike for him.

L plates went off right away. My instructor told me not to ride with a pillion until i get the physical license in the mail. Is this true? Don't see why.

Unmitigated bullshit. You're licensed, or you're not licensed.

You might want to read your insurance T&Cs though.

As said though, be sure to check your insurance and make sure you are insured to carry a pillion!! Very Happy

Congratulations.
I only passed mod 2 last Thursday and rode my own bike on Sunday.

As everyone is telling me enjoy but be careful.

06 CBR125, really good bike for what it is, but definitely want to move on to something bigger now!

Ah I haven't even considered that, does added insurance on pillion cost much more? Im paying 187/year on it as it is

A few £££ for me, everyone is different.

Be clear that it's a risk factor and likely use that you're informing them about. If you take a pillion, they'll still be covered for their injuries as a third party if you bin it, regardless of what your policy says - the risk of that is on you, not them.

So, does that mean that you don't necessarily have to have pillion on your insurance?
