Hi all!
It might be something to do with my age. I've read up everywhere I can and I can't get a definitive answer, so I wanted to ask here. What sort of motorbike am I entitled to drive according to this:
https://s10.postimg.org/ko7l34o1l/entitlements.jpg
I've never taken a bike test. I've googled it, and most posts relate to 79(tri) codes, which allow you to ride tricycles, but my code is different.
Sorry if I'm being a total noob here, but I can't read it any other way and I'm confused!
Thanks in advance.
Edit:
I mean the answer HAS to that 79(3) is the new 79(tri) code right? But:
| Quote: | 79 - restricted to vehicles in conformity with the specifications stated in brackets on your licence
79.03 - restricted to tricycles |
Well... mine is 79 with something in brackets, so what is specification 3? If they meant 79.03, why not write it that way?
Edit 2:
Answering my own question here, but I'll leave it, as it might be useful for other confused people. After some more digging the consensus seems to be that it a trike entitlement. But there is no official reference to it anywhere. Both 79.03 and 79(tri) have been listed officially, but 79(3) seems to be the new one. |

It's so you can get one of those 3 wheeled pavement pounding disability scooters I reckon!
Don't forget to get the RAF roundel and masses of mirrors, and a Parker,...... And a flat cap and some small terrier like dog !

Yes, it's trikes.
I'm not sure we can even blame Brussels for its ever changing format. DVLA, innit. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
