GS500 Front Pads Retaining Pin

Shitty Suzuki part quality! My poor winter hack which was treated with ACF50 has corrected very badly in the locations you don't want ACF50! Namely the brakes!

I need to change my front brake pads but I cannot get the pin out. Part 11.

Any ideas? I'm using Plusgas on it twice daily at the moment, but it's really corroded. I think if I cut it I'll end up with two halves stuck in there.

can you not remove the Caliper via the 2 bolts, then get your grips/pliers in the gap and rotate the pin to break the corrosion ?

have you tried heating the area, failing that you will have to cut it off and re-drill the whole replacing the pin afterwards

Reluctant to try heat with the seals in close proximity. I may end up having to remove the caliper and splitting it.

I remember why I wanted a CB500 instead of a GS500.

In the past I have drilled through from the opposite side of the pin and knocked it through with a punch.I then installed a longer pin.It is only there to hold the pads in place and all of the braking force is on the much bigger pins and where the pads seat in the caliper.
