Planning to head to Norfolk from London Saturday morning, heading back (a scenic way) Sunday morning. Anyone got any tips, roads, places to see, stay, etc?
In terms of cost and availability (bank hol) , reckon we're gonna have to stay in Gt Yarmouth. So though skirt up through suffolk, get to Yarmouth, check in, then go for a ride round the broads.
Best Biking Roads apps recommended a route from mundesley to Kings Lynn which I thought might be good on way back? I'd like to see up the coast a bit, and also forests around Thetford, so planning to hook up from Yarmouth, then head in to Kings lynn from half way up coast, down to Thetford, then back to London. And hopefully be back in time for a bank hol late pub lunch at 3 with the missus and some mates! ____________________ Then: Kawasaki ZZR250 > Suzuki Across 250 > Suzuki SV650 > Honda CB750

I did a bit of Norfolk last year. The urban areas are very heavily populated and I found Thetford to be pretty, but slow going carving through traffic......until an unfortunate emergency repair meant I came back quite late and hit Thetford forest around 07:30pm and it was incredible. No traffic at all, just a few Ferrari's, Porches and Shelby Mustangs.

From what I remember, didn't think much of the east coast. Great Yarmouth etc, pretty grim.
The north coast was a different story. I loved it and will definitely go back.
So yeah, go through Thetford, head north on A1065 to Fakenham, then NW on B1355 to Burnham Market (slightly different to root pictured). Bumble over to Wells-Next-The-Sea. Stunning beach!
Then follow the coast road A149 to Cromer. Then back to Thetford, cross country (avoid urban areas where possible).
Hoping to go back this year, but spend more time up on the north coast.
EDIT:
Actually, at Fakenham, you could head west on A148 and hook up with the A149 all the way round the north coast to Cromer (having stopped a few places like Wells-Next-The-Sea etc). Think I might give that a go |

Hmmm it's booked now I'm aware of its reputation (probably why I've never been) but it's the only affordable place with twin room availability for just one night on bank holiday weekend. Possibly could have got something in Kings Lynn but the plan is just to get there in the arvo, take the luggage off the bikes then ride round a bit for the rest of the day. Then get out first thing Sunday for more riding. ____________________ Then: Kawasaki ZZR250 > Suzuki Across 250 > Suzuki SV650 > Honda CB750

Aww well.
Positives are that everything you need is there - fast food, pubs, shops, amusements, the massive pier (it doesn't quite reach the water) ____________________ stinkwheel: He had an animated .gif of a cat performing fellatio.
