Plagued by rain that day but still had plenty of fun on the passes. Kirkstone, Hard Knott, Wrynose, Honister, etc. There's a cyclist falling off at Hartside pass too in there too.

Aye, DRZ forum ride out Actually quite a few more DRZ owners in the north east but they never show any interest in coming out, some just prefer riding to the beach and back, whereas I won't get my bike out unless I'm going out all day.

Yeah, when I watched the video I realised it was a specific DRZ ride-out. Got some cool roads up there, and some great views, I bet there's a good number of green lanes too?

I'll get my bike out at any excuse, I prefer spending a whole day on it, but then my back usually hurts the next day, but it's worth it.

Not sure, but probably, there are loads in Hexham See groups of off roaders all the time. Can't get away with too much on the SM set up, used to explore green lanes all the time on my first DRZ, scratched the rims up pretty bad. On the dry stuff it's ok but wet mud and you get stuck quickly.

I was just following my mate but after reading through the site it's very similar to what we did that day Bloody cyclists are mad doing all that. It's a work out on a motorbike

Go for it on your VFR, I have seen plenty of big bikes on the passes At least you won't have tank range anxiety like me, some times mine does 85 to reserve, some times 65, not really sure of the logic there but aye, probably running rich and being flat out 95% of the day doesn't help. Do have the facilities to carry a jerry can on the rack I suppose.

Did another ride out last week but just went as far as Penrith really, round the back roads of Hartside Pass. Castle Carrock is the only town name I remember Definitely go the long back way to the Lakes, and then on your way back from Penrith do Hartside Pass. The variety of roads you can choose around Cumbria and Hexham is immense really. Easily can do 350 miles with non-stop twisties. I did a supermoto ride out a few years ago when I had the KTM and the leader incorporated the Yorkshire Dales into it, along with Hartside, the Lakes etc.
