 |

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help with a problem I am having with my 2005 CBR600F.
The problem started around a week ago when I got home from work and turned the bike off whilst I went to unlock the garage. Upon returning and attempting to start the bike I realised that it would start, however, the engine would cut as soon as I took my finger off the starter.
After closer inspection I realised that the FI weren't priming in addition to the high beam indication light on the instrument panel coming on, all four indicators were also steady on. Looking at the front of the bike I could see that the dipped beam light was not turning on with the ignition, so I replaced the bulb and then the bike ran as normal until today.
This morning upon attempting to start the bike the same things happened; no fuel injectors priming, high beam indicator light etc. Fortunately I had another spare bulb so switched it out, being very careful not to touch the bulb, and headed out to work. Upon finishing work however, the same thing happened again. Taking the bulb out in the car park meant that I could start the bike as normal and get home.
Does anyone know of the cause of this issue? I have had dipped beam bulbs blow before and the bike has started and ran fine. Also upon replacing both bulbs today I noticed that both still looked fine and like they hadn't blown, which confuses me any more.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The reasoning is based on my ageing testicles.......and cycling with said appendages.I would get em surgically removed but that's only available for transops.
Not only do the wires scrape , a badly routed harness.......especially round the headstock........can also pull at the wirends in the connectors and connector block.....,..like my dodge .....it all looks normal...if a bit tired and worn but I have to accept that due to age, indifference, and four kids,an ex ,and ex ex who's a midwife.....the testicular ends that are connected to my brain and heart have got a few bad wires and worn connections.
Check continuity with a multimeter at the connector pins, wiggling each wire when testing to see if there's an erractic connection.
You think you ve problems mate,I m a engine nut.Been in London for a few days and I'm starting to get ' Boris bike' curious.......hopefully I ll retire soon , bashing the bishop with tractor magazines. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs. Checking the starter switchgear assembly may help .I was also wondering if your stater motor clutch is disengaging correctly. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs.
