Up to £45pm and usual message, emailing and decent variation of apps available (which the windows phone didn't have).

I've just moved to Samsung S5 after having an iPhone 5, granted they're not the latest incarnations of each but the main things I've noticed are: the samsung comes full of so much shit software that is a pain to remove, some of it even reinstalled itself after I thought I got rid of it. It auto downloaded the latest android version and I couldn't see a way to remove the download so went and installed it. Big mistake, phone runs like shit now and I've only had it 2 months. The volume when connected to headphones is crap too, the iPhone was much louder.

I quite like the OS in general, I'd root the phone if I could but this seems to be much more difficult than I remember when I did it on an old HTC.

I'm not an apple fanboy at all, but I'd almost go so far as to say the iPhone is better and I'd wish I'd got one now.

Just my comparison of these 2 makes.

Then you can get any phone you can want. I have an iPhone 6, 64GB with 4GB of data per month and it's £39. 6 plus would maybe push your budget but that's about it.

Look on money saving expert for the best contracts.

If your not hooked into apple products like iTunes or have an Apple TV.
I would not longer recommend a iPhone.
Having upgraded from my iPhone 4, which served me faultlessly for 8 years, to a iPhone 5S, I'm very disappointed.
If it were not for the fact all of my music is on iTunes & having Apple TV setup at home, I would be rid of this phone already.
IOS8 is far more buggy than the previous & the battery life is awful!
The "bugs" I talk about don't cripple the phone by any respect, just inconvenient. Especially considering my iPhone 4 never missed a beat on the older IOS right up to it antennae going bad.
If I could fix my iPhone 4, I wouldn't warranty changing phone.
If I wasn't snared by Apple media, I wouldn't buy another iPhone .

I've got a ZTE Blade S6, (on offer from Amazon £169) which is far better than my Samsung s5.

I use The Peoples Operator for £15pm, Unlimited minutes, unlimited txt and 6gb on a 28 day rolling contract. (£15pm FFS !!!)

I don't like being tied in for 2 years

Still like my Note 4. I pay £34 a month for 10GB data, unlimited calls & texts. Would never go back to a smaller screen.

Thinking

No. I can't actually express just how derp an idea that is.

As to phones, if you're not particularly invested in any ecosystem then I'd recommend staying away from Apple. At least if you're on Android there are many different handset options.

All of these are awesome.

When Microsoft unleash windows 10 it will open up their store to developers of Android and iOS apps so in future lack of apps won't be a problem. Microsoft generally are about to hit a hot streak mark my words, Windows 10 is gonna be good.
